I used to use Flashget for downloading all the files and FreeMake video downloader for downloading videos from YouTube and other websites.

Then I read about IDM on Softpedia that this download manager can download files and videos from all the websites with a single click. Quick Google search gave me lots of good reviews and I decided to uninstall my old programs and give a try to IDM.

Fastest download manager. Only negative point i found was few crashes in previous(very old) version and that it cost. Highly recommended for downloading from so called modern file host servers. I have compared it with all downloaders available and it beats them all in speed. Its so powerful it sucks all the bandwidth it can get. But i am still using fdm unless i get this giveaway (kinda given up unnecessary piracy since i took admission in CSE who knows when it backfires).

Why do I want to win the IDM? Because I think it is a great download manager and should be mandatory equipment of the operating system.
Unfortunately, this excellent program is not free.
I have used it in the trial version and was doing great. It allows downloading from popular sites like YouTube, MySpaceTV, Google Video is very easy and most importantly, integrates with most popular web browsers (Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari, Netscape)
It offers resume the download process, technology, dynamic segmentation, downloaded files (in order to accelerate the download), allows you to preview the contents of zip archives, and also has a scheduling function.
And of course, always pulls at maximum speed.

As you can see, the program has a lot of features and options, but despite this it is very easy to use, has a nice and clean interface and is available in my language - Polish language:)
There is simply THE BEST!

Internet Download Manager jest bardzo dobrym programem do ściągania plików-chyba najlepszym na świecie,testowałem już różne programy i ten mi odpowiada najbardziej ,ściąga bardzo szybko pliki ,dobrze się integruje z przeglądarkami zarówno z Firefox ,Operą jak i z Chrome , nie ma z nim żadnego problemu ,no chyba tylko taki że działa tylko 30 dni bez licencji ,polecam wszystkim , nie ma lepszego menadżera pobierania - i dlatego bardzo będę szczęśliwy jeśli wygram licencję .

IDM is undoubtedly one of the best download managers out there. I have tried most of the download managers like Orbit, DAP, FDM, IDA, etc., but none of them can match IDM's acceleration.

They update it often, (too often IMHO). But to keep up with the pace that Mozilla and the others update their browsers, it is quite acceptable.

What I like in IDM is the excellent integration to browsers, it handles downloads very well, and especially when downloading videos from youtube.

Pause/resume support for sites is quite good. I have often resumed downloading files successfully after it asks for the download page to be reopened and grabs the refreshed URL.

The only thing I dislike in IDM is the lack of automatic queuing which even free download managers have. It does have "Start download later", but that's not what I am talking about. I for one would love to see an option for selecting "Number of Simultaneous downloads". Because, I am on a 2 mbps connection and sometimes downloading multiple files is hell. I have to add each one to a queue manually, while some files do not support queuing like filesharing services I often download themes,skins and other stuff for my android phone and most of these files are hosted on such sites. Just add the sitename to exceptions and you are done. IDM will ignore the sites you added and let your browser to download the files normally. I don't use the drop target feature or the site grabber much.

Overall, I would give IDM 9/10.

10 if they added the option for letting us choose "Number of simultaneous downloads" :)

Oh... I simply love this download manager. With those minimalistic design as compared to others it still delivers the punch when comes downloading files on internet with great speed. This helps it stand far ahead in the crowd of download managers.
I used its free version last year and was left awestruck with its features especially the video download bar which i used enormously

Why I like IDM, and I want to win? Therefore, the IDM is a very simple program that not only lets you download files from the Internet but also
browse the Web when download in the same time files. IDM has a very good functions of the Planning and Queuing. A useful feature is the automatic return to the page from which the download was interrupted and then resume the unfinished file. This feature is important for me because I use WiFi Internet. IDM is the best because can download videos from almost all the sites. Besides, I like the IDM feature that enables automatic shutdown after completing download and preview the zip archives.
Besides Internet Download Manager is very fast download manager and copes very well with FTP so It would be gerat win this program.

well haven't tested this that much as I usually don't use download accelerators (used Orbit most of the time) but could make good use of this since I've read lots of good reviews of it and tested a old version (about two years ago) that was good but had a lower internet speed at that time so it was not that useful at that time

I use the trial version before not too long ago (it has expired now and since then been using Free Download Manager), its a very good software indeed. It help me to boost and accelerate my download speed a lot I really like it. It also allow me to manage my download and allow me to resume my paused download anytime without hassle. And yeah I can add my premium account of certain site so that my download will start instantly without the need to log in to the site every time I download the file from it. Not to mention its download panel feature and link grabber that allow me to download almost anything from the web.

Its only down side of this is that I had encounter some problem and bug especially the Download Panel icon in which it does not integrate properly to my browser (Google Chrome). The icon does not appear sometime and I had to keep on refreshing the page in hope that the icon appear by chance. Yeah if this problem been resolved and fixed by them then I would say this software is near to perfection.

My first download accelerator was DAP. Then one day a friend of mine gave me a trail version of IDM. Then my experiences with downloads was beginning to change. I mainly use my mobile as dial up modem to access the Internet but as usual they are very slow & some times they crashed because of network time out. but it is my experience with IDM that it squeezes maximum speed from this slow connection and it easily resumes after time out. it also works with every browser i know and when i switched from Win XP to Win 7 it fits there also very well. its Video capture tool which appear automatically when you watching a video online is awesome. its scheduled download,its grabber and all other features makes it world's best download manager.
Now softpedia gives me a chance to win a licence. so i am hoping that i may win. but if i ain't,even then i use IDM and buy a licence for it.Because for me, it is the BEST.

i used dap,orbit,youtube video downloaders,torrent,addons for browsers, etc etc but the more i used them the more i realized none is smoother and compatible as idm.i have a trail license and whenever it expires i simply format my pc 'cos i feel handicap to download even a minute pdf file without idm.it not only offers a user friendly mode to automatically download the files but the access to various downloads become way too easy..i would have no surprise if it is rated the numero uno downloaders among all downloaders.

I did not like IDM features as below :
1) cannot preview incomplete download.
2) cannot browse referer URL
3) automatically grab download link and a problem for files not supported. Configuration option to disable it not so user-friendly.
I hope IDM team will improve on these aspects.

3) integrated well with almost all file hosters premium

Oh.....I simply love this software. With those minimalistic design as compared to other download managers out on web, it still manages to strike a punch when comes to downloading files on internet.
Ever since I used its trial version last year I was left awestruck with the extent of features it provided especially the video download bar which I used enormously to download videos from youtube. But since at that time my laptop was new and this was my very first download manager I used and also I had little knowledge about downloading and all those stuffs I let it pass hoping to find better products. I first used internet download manager about 2 years ago. I liked it at the very first use. It really astonished me by boosting my download speed by over 5 times.

Apart from being a download manager it had tons of other features that i discovered on the course.

It had the feature of queuing of downloads, so if u frequently download, simply give the list to IDM and it will take care of the rest. Downloads can also be scheduled.

It has very high level of integration with all the famous browsers : internet explorer, mozilla, chrome , opera, netscape, and safari.

It runs one of its own process for monitoring of the browsers for effective and efficient capture of downloads. It has categorizes downloading feature and blacklisting of automatically captured websites.

It has optimized setting for each of the connection type from dialup to LAN. It has download limiter including download and upload speed limiter.

Dealing with proxies are more easier with IDM as it has native support for using proxy.

Downloading from file-sharing and file-hosting sites like filesonic will be as easy as downloading from ordinary sites with IDM as it has site login feature.

we don't need additional software to download video, audio from websites as IDM supports downloading of web videos from all websites including YouTube.

IDM, according to me, is the best there is, honestly speaking. It is simple, poweful, light and catches anything you need. It has helped me greatly especially in times of slow connection. Today I am very happy about hearing that IDM has been offered as give away. It is the greateness of Softpedia. Thanking and wishing once again to softpedia for this. This is one of the best softwares for which I was praying for a long time. While surfing internet, IDM is my soul. It helps in downloading any files immediately.
I have been using IDM since one year. IDM is a light and fast software. It is very easy to use. Its features are great. It helps in fully utilizing our internet connection. I have using it since I was using 56 kbps modem. Now I have switched to 512 kbps adsl. I always got maximum output other than any other downloading softwares. At present I get downloading speed of more than 70 kb/sec while using IDM. It goes on accelerating and maximizing the speed and then tries to keep it constant at the apex. But without IDM I never get downloading speed more than 40 kb/sec. I never get bored with downloading files whatever may be the size of the file. Because it takes place in lightening speed. And, however sometimes if files are much more larger then I pause it and again resume it at my another favourable time. Or, sometimes I set IDM to auto shut down when download completes. Both ways are good for me. I dont need to linger on my pc until the download completes. Whenever there is any video on any page then it automatically displays a dialouge box asking for downloading that video. I have used so many other downloading softwares like DAP, Orbit, etc. but IDM is the best.
Now a days some new features are available. Just like fixing downloading speed at a constant rate neither more nor less. In the earlier versions of IDM when a download was going on in full speed then at that same time if I tried to open a page in browser then it wont. I think because the whole data was absorbed by IDM. But now a page can be surfed easily, IDM automatically fluctuates and adjusts the speed up and down to help other programs as well to connect to the internet. I use to surf internet using various web browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc. and IDM is compatiable and integreted with all of them. Updates use to come very regularly. This keeps us in touch of latest downloading technology. Another best feature is webpage grabber. I like to most. On the other hand, I like its technique of downloading files. It breaks the main file into so many pieces and then downloads them easily and quickly one by one.
So, finally I pray for this piece of software. I could not imagine internet without this software. I would be proud to get one of the 50s. Looking forward positively very soon...

Why do I want to win the IDM? Because I think it is a great download manager and should be mandatory equipment of the operating system.
Unfortunately, this excellent program is not free.
I have used it in the trial version and was doing great. It allows downloading from popular sites like YouTube, MySpaceTV, Google Video is very easy and most importantly, integrates with most popular web browsers (Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari, Netscape)
It offers resume the download process, technology, dynamic segmentation, downloaded files (in order to accelerate the download), allows you to preview the contents of zip archives, and also has a scheduling function.
And of course, always pulls at maximum speed.

As you can see, the program has a lot of features and options, but despite this it is very easy to use, has a nice and clean interface and is available in my language - Polish language:)

16 and click Ok. its also take over the downloading files too fast, higher and handling well until the download finish. it is a perfect download with great features.

it's a while I'm using IDM and i completely satisfied with it's performance,first of all nothing can beat it's download speed,i remember once i was downloading a small file using FDM with about 4 Kb/s from using my gprs internet,then i decided to try IDM and i couldn't believe IDM was downloading the same file with about 12kb/s;
another great feature of IDM is it's integrity with Firefox with a mix with flashgot ,if my file such as youtube video is in the cache,IDM won't download it again and will save my time and bandwidth.
the only downside of IDM for me is that it won't dial my adsl connection automatically ,it's a big problem when i want to use it's scheduler .

I have tried several similar download manager programs and they are not in the same league as Internet Download Manager. Its easy to install and use right off the bat. I like the resume and queue functions the best as it gives me the opportunity to concentrate on other tasks which makes my time more productive. I regularly download podcasts, videos and files for my research and work purposes and using a brilliant program like this makes my life less stressful and more organized. IDM in short is the best download manager available right now. The application is blazingly fast in terms of the download even in slow dial up connection, justifying its statement as to increasing the download speed even in slow connection.
The installation file size of IDM is very small(4.34 MB) when compared to that of other which is anywhere around 6 to 13 MB.
Other thing which I like the most is the speed at which IDM installs. During installation it does not change the home page or search engine of the browser or even does not come bundled with crappy tool bars.
After installation it gets integrated with every browser such as chrome,Firefox, opera & finally last but not least Internet Explorer & is quick to grab any download given by the user. It uses a very small amount of process of about 11 MB which is very good.
By using IDM one can give Batch download , configure IDM to start download immediately after the user logs in, configure it to automatically shut download soon after the download gets complete or if it times out. One of the best feature is the traffic limiter(note this feature is present in almost all download managers but is best in IDM as it doesn't slow the download to such low levels when compared to other download managers & also helps one to browse smoothly), also one can set the number of download IDM should allow.
The best feature which is present is the video grabber plugin which is very useful to download Videos from most of the websites( This feature is not present in any other download manager viz., FDM one has copy the url and paste in the Flash download section of FDM window, in the case of DAP one has to install a tool bar which is crappy most of the time as it doesn't download videos even from Youtube).
Good: Really fast, light on system, no bundled software.
Bad: lack of bit torrent client/ support.

Download Manager is very very powerfull

I just copy a download from my browser & when I move the cursor where to add a new URL on IDM, voila! It gets pasted and I click 'Start download'. Even though my connection is generally slow, (bcoz I use my phone as a modem via bluetooth), the segmented download completes in no time.
Pity it's expiring in 2 days. But there's light at the end of the tunnel.

IDM is the best downloading manager for last few years. I am using it for last 5 years. I help me to boost the download speed, help me to download videos from all sites. I don't write this article to win the license, i write it because i really love this IDM. Thank you the hole THE IDM TEAM.

After using various download managers over the years I accidentally came accross IDM. What a great application. Not only does the application actually work as claimed the free version offers loads op options to the user. Working in IT and being responsible for updating company software and trying out new versions of exting software on a daily basis a reliable download manager is a must.

Another plus to IDM is the seamless integration into most browsers. Whether using Firefox, Opera or Internet Explorer I can be sure that any downloads will be caught and start as expected. Files are downloaded and grouped in folders based on file type and makes it easy to view documents, applications or even videos downloaded using IDM.

Downloads are easily managed using download Q's and these Q's can be scheduled to ensure that network traffic is kept down during peak times. Another handy feature is Grabber which stores websites for offline use and allows me to view favourite sites while offline.

A feature that amazes me is the ability to download embedded FLV files on streaming websites. I can now download tutorial videos for users.

I find that IDM is indespensable and when setting up any user PC I now insist that IDM be installed by default.

What a great program it has really improved my productivity and simplified life on the web.

I really need good and fast internet download accelerator, because I have only free GetGo Download Manager. This software is not bad but is compatible only with Firefox Nightly and IE. I often use Google Chrome, Opera and their default download managers are slow. I need fastest and better software to download files from internet, and it should be compatible not only Firefox and IE.

I just copy a download link from my browser and when I move the cursor on the 'add URL' & voila! the link gets pasted & all I just do is click on the 'start download' and in no time the download's complete despite my normally slow connection (because I use my phone as a modem via bluetooth). It's a pity it's expiring in 2 day's time. but there's light at the end of the tunnel.....

i started using internet around 2007...and since then i was very fond of free softwares. i searched them on google but most were not matching my choices. Meanwhile i surfed softpedia once or twice...sincerely i loved GUI of the site...but searching was still a problem..
then i got a way...for any software i looked for on google ...i concatenated the particular software with the word SOFTPEDIA...whether it was Windows XP SP3 pack or themes like blind...i typed software+softpedia...and i pretty much get my desired link...

i like idm becoz of it cross browser integration through which i can download my mp3 songs, flash videos from youtubes and other sites WITH ONE CLICK........also it has excellent resume capability, Queue and scheduler.. I've tested the trial of IDM before.
For me IDM combines the basic functionalities of traditional download managers
- catching links out of common browsers i.e. IE, Opera, Firefox, ...
- easy downloading and resuming of files
- splitting files in multiple segments for acceleration of download speed

with enhanced professional features
- seamless integration into common browsers i.e. IE, Opera, Firefox, ...
- grabing of streaming videos of common sites like youtube, ...
- scheduling downloads
- downloading whole websites with it's webspider

This all comes in a smart and easy to use multilanguage user interface.

I especially like this video downloading feature with only one click,
so I can watch them offline later.

Until now i only used the download manager of Firefox and for some extralarge files Flashget.

I have tried a few free download managers and there are some decent ones, if you use an alternate internet browser such as Firefox or Chrome. But Internet Download Manager sets the standard for Internet Explorer which all other download managers are measured against. IDM has been the premier program of its type for several years and that's not ending anytime soon. The only reservation with IDM is that it is not a free program nor does it have a free version.

So far so good, I've tried the trial version once and without sweet talking, it was fast. But when I now tried to install the program that I downloaded with it there was a problem of loss of some of the data (Broken chain or so), the reason for that honestly I don't know. I have used other download managers in the past, but this one seems to be better than all of them. The trial version is alright, still beating some of which I had before hand. One of the great things about this is you can resume downloads and not be forced to restart the big ones (this gets annoying). And with its other futures I can only hope to win.

But at that time IDM still needs a lot of improvement because sometimes when you download a video it saves the page and not the embedded video, but now I think it really improved a lot and they are still the best and fastest paid download manager. On every Windows Vs Linux debate, a question that is most commonly raised is- "Is there any equivalent of Internet Download Manager in Linux?"...well, ask me & the answer is plain & simple- NO, not even close! After checking out more than 10 popular download managers for linux, I ditched my 'Ubuntu 11.04' just because I didn't find any of those performing like IDM.

(1) include p2p torrent download as well, like in bitcomet.
(2) also an upload manager, eg for high speed multithread batch transfer of files to gmail drive, dropbox, skydrive etc.
(3) extend this multithraed technology to copy/move files across network or between pc.
(4) file preview.
(5) auto extract compressed files (eg, .rar. .zip ) and auto-join splite files, (eg, .001 files ) once downloads completed.

This would make it a more comprehensive internet tool as well as a simple file management tool.

I do want to use IDM for a long time, but I do not want to use it illegally with the cracked version. Now I use FDM. I see IDM is very good and fast, with the latest update which enable user to shut down automatically after download is completed. My suggestion for next update may be the ability to download torrent, and a menu to place all download files in one specific folder, without separation of programs, videos, music, etc.

IDM is really been great for me. does the job and apart from people that say that the transfer rates are exaggerated, and the software not being able to accept links from sites like filesonic and other similar sites which make u wait for an hour because IDM messed up, for everything else... this is it people. i just hope they make the whole video downloading toolbar fit better with the palemoon x64 browser with flash x64 v11 installed.

I Used to big fan of Firefox browser and one of the main reason was wide range of Add-ons and I have Downthemall for main download Manager. But now a days I mainly use chrome as my default Browser and I like to use it all the time. It has good amount of Extension, but I cannot find any good Download Manager for chrome and hence I have to use firefox for big Download as I have broadband here upto 300 kbps :(
After so many research I came to know that, IDM is one of the best Download Accelerator and tried for 30 days. Believe me I just simply love it... And I must say that it can beat Downth***ll. But unfortunately it's paid program and always looking for some legit giveaway (I donot use any pirate copy)

I am using my official version. Would love to use for my personal use. Compared to just about all the other downloaders. This is the only one that outperforms all of them. Believe me i have tried them all. The highest I got on download is 1.97 (downloaded oracle data base 2.1GB file in 30 minutes from oracle.com ) mb per second and usual is around 500 KB to 1 MB. It does get slower at times but usually during high bandwidth usage and heavy internet usage but I am very pleased with this program. Give it a try. I think you will be amazed. Thanks Softpedia for such a wonderful offer.

I have a hobby of collecting softwares from softpedia than other sites and according to softpedia I used IDM 5.18 first and I just impressed. Because before IDM I had used FDM, but it does not support resuming from File Hosting Sites, so I have to face critical situations, and thus downloading large files became frustrated work for me. I used to have Download Accelerator Plus, but it simply cannot download video file such as from youtube. After reviewing on my friend computer with Internet Download Manager within - I was attracted and interested to how it manage the download process, and how it acclerate the download speed. Then I tried to open video preview in web browser, in it I can see IDM button to download the video, I tried to click, then the download progresses smoothly.

My friend tell me that he will never change his download manager to other then IDM, so do I. But, I hope I can have my own IDM by this Softpedia Giveaway, so I would never on keep searching what best free download manager is best to use.

Earlier I used Orbit Downloader and Internet Download Accelerator and I was quite satisfied with it. But when I switched to Internet Download Manager just to test it, I was shocked to see its blazing download speeds. The features that I found to be most attractive in IDM is its ability to resume the unfinished and/or error downloads by refreshing the download mirror i.e., using a different mirror. It also has the ability to download whole websites and also it has many other attractive features that I could not find in any other download manager. I have tried & used Free Download Manager, Download Accelerator Plus, Download Accelerator Free, Get Right and IDM. Not to forget the default download manager for each of the browser I used. Out of all these IDM is always the fastest for the same download link, and no changes in network or PC. That's why I'll rate IDM as the best.

Good Points:

1. Small download size.
2. No crap included in the download.
3. No-brian installation. I say as there is mere next-next-next clicks & it's installed.
4. It catches all downloads as soon as you press download/attempt a download.
5. It pre-recognized the category of a download link-video, setup-files, compressed files, music, and others. You can add you own custom category and even delete the pre-defined categories as well.
6. You can set the download location for each category above. Once set it always downloads that specific category to the specified folder.
7. It also supports to initiate the download at a later time, rather than immediately. This is very useful as we could let the download start once we are down with some inportant work/browsing.
8. The interface is easy to navigate and use. Nothing fancy though.
9. Once the main window is closed it sits in the tray.
10. If you try download the same file/link it pop-ups that the link/file already exists, do you want to overwrite. Again very useful.
11. If you download a video file it also shows the resolution, length - even before you download. This is very useful preventing you to download cut movies,shows etc. Example below:
AVI: Res. 512x384, 25 samp per sec, Length 43 min 59 sec
12. From the interface>Tasks you can opt to show drop target near the tray/clock. Then you can drag/drop downloads to this area also.
13. It allows batch download and import of links from notepad, as I tested.
14. It allows you to control speed, from "Speed Limiter" option. Here you can specify speed of each download.
15. The site grabber could be used to collect everything on a weblink. I'm not sure how good it works for the entire link, as I just grabbed some 5Gb of data using this. But in past I have used HTTrack Website Copier for 20-25Gb data.
16. It is Multilingual and supports 13 languages.
17. It pop-ups a window whenever there is an update.
18. The updates are very frequent. Almost 1 new build comes out every 15 days.
19. It supports integration of all popular browsers I know about.
20. You can configure in the option to scan the downloads with your virus scanner.
21. It also supports comman line.


Shortcomings:

1. Somewhat fancy interface.
2. Speed Limiter should allow a user to set speed in Kb/sec also. Now it is only KB/sec.
3. It becomes irritating sometimes when I am browsing a webpage with videos or listening a liveradio station (on net), I shows that "Download Video from this page" bar. I wish to have a hotkey to disable/enable it.
4. The help file is still having pics of version 4. High time to update the pics and other relevant information.
5. It takes 10-15 seconds of time to join the segments download, to give a complete download file.
6. Default maximum connections is just 16. I wish it to be 20 and more. FDM has 20.
7. There is no Cancel button on any of the settings page. If I happen to change some setting by mistake, it cannot be undone- unless I close that window.
8. No option to export/import the existing settings. So if there is a re-install, we have to start from the scratch.


In nutshell, IDM is for one & all who do care of long download times. It worked perfectly for my needs and is the BEST out in the market.

definitely idm is a great downloader.............

IDM is a great software to use. I have tried it. It is the best suited for me as it helps me to utilize my network resources efficiently and more productively. It has a great download speed. And best of all it helps me to save a lot of time as I can make queues and download lot of files easily, without messing with my PC. I can just sit back and relax while it does it's job. I just love this software.
I would be happy to have this software.

Whenever i went to my friends home, he braged about its download manager,but I shown him that even though my internet speed is less than his internet speed ,i can download any file much more faster than him even just using trial version of IDM.Now I just imagine what the full version will bring to my internet experience !!!!

I have participated on many IDM giveaways and I have never won because there are always a ton (or more :P) of participants that also want to win one license, the reason is really simple: IDM is the BEST download manager there is on the market; I can be sure about that statement because I have tried others download managers/accelerators that also split the download and/or use multiple connections and I have not find ONE that can perform a better job than IDM, that is because only this software offers me some great features, I am going to describe just some of this features:

* I believe one of the most -if not the most- important thing is the speed, sometimes I think that the software is somehow forcing my ISP to give me more bandwidth because my download speed (compared with my browser) increases like 8 or 9 times (WOW =O) and not 5 times - like the description says on the IDM webpage - also the file is always correctly downloaded, the only time I got a corrupted download was due to an error on the webpage. The download speed compared with other download managers is not considerably better; however I do not want to wait a few extra seconds or minutes for a program to finish when there is a better choice called Internet Download Manager.

* The resume capability: I do not remember any time I needed to resume while I was using other download managers so I can only compare IDM with my browser, and once again IDM wins (what a surprise xD), specially because this software shows you if it is possible to resume the download; once you click resume the download is quickly resumed unlike the browser download manager and also because it is possible to change the address of a download, that feature has helped me sometimes when the original link was not working anymore and I was missing an small portion of the file.

* The Download File Info window is very useful: when I want to change the download path it allows me to easily select another download category or change the folder traditionally with the browse button, I can click the download latter button when it is needed, maybe because I am already downloading something or I do not have enough time to wait for the download to finish before shutting down my PC.

* The Download complete window is another good thing, I can choose between opening the file, opening the folder and the button with a hand which is something unique that allows me to effortlessly drag the file to another folder.

* Whenever I need to download a lot of files the queues are the right tool, I can choose how many files download at the same time, I can create different queues for different things and I can start or stop the whole queue.

* Whenever I need to download a YouTube (or other site) video I can use IDM instead of an add-on, another software or a webpage.

I am going to end my comment here before it becomes tooo long, but there are more great features that I did not write about and that proves IDM is an extraordinary application.

Internet Download Manager is the World Best Download manager yet i have use the trial version .when i install IDM on my computer it increase my download speed by 50% before my speed was 20-30 KB but after it become 50-60Kb i like it and i want its register version. I downloaded many speed booster but i found IDM the best of all.

What can I do to get a license for IDM?

Option 1: share experience about it. I haven't used IDM before, so I'll have to skip this...

Option 2: say that I need it to improve my download speeds. It's a good point, but would my post be different than others and would the editors at Softpedia take notice? Not sure...

Option 3: write a witty comment. Probably the best option to get me accross the line. Which is kind of what I'm trying to do, sharing my game plan and hoping that my post will be good enough to get me a license.

Will it succeed? Not sure, I will have to wait and see...

While Downloading some FLV files from Browser there is no definite way to access the file .but with IDM it is so convenient to resume the file anytime .Unlike other download manager .IDM easily captures the FLV links from Browser and the speed is remarkable.But only problem with IDM is that it doesn't have the queue feature (unlike DAP) while downloading epaper of Newspaper i face difficulty if Automatic downloading of files.As when error comes in epaper there is no way to again add it to queue list unlike DAP where it automatically comes in queue.And there is not timer scheduler in IDM.Unlike DAP .There should be queue number in IDM so that we can move file or below when there is error .

I have been using IDM for about a year now, and its really great at what it does

We all rely on the internet every day in order to do ordinary tasks like simply downloads. Not every time the internet connection is reliable and we loose a lot of time and data because of this. Here enters the scene a great download manager as IDM. What I love the most at IDM is the ability to pause, and resume downloads. Let's say that you have limited bandwidth, and you would like to do some browsing. Just pause in the running download job and run it again at a later time. You might have high-speed Internet the and no need for this function you might say. Several times in my experience the "Connection to the Server has Timed Out" message appears, and you will lose your downloads if no download manager is installed on your computer. The ability to organize your downloads is something I love. Google Chrome it is a great browser, but your Downloads folder will get to the point of a fat lady in no time with you just adding new Mbs. Having the chance to organize the downloads is a great feature. Same praise goes from me towards the link grabber feature, and the ability to ad saved links or save from YouTube, for example.
Yes, it is fast (really faster than the built in accelerators), easy to work with and reliable.

Honestly, I haven't used this software yet. I am using the getgo download manager. When I saw this article, I decided to try my luck.

There are 100's of download managers. The best one should have characteristics of light weight, easy to install, easy to operate and easy to downlaod with supersonic speed. Every 1 of 3 computer user is liking IDM because of these traits what else is required?? Thanks to you IDM you hav contributed a lot in saving time of millions of peoples around the world.

I have a hobby of collecting softwares from softpedia than other sites and according to softpedia I used IDM 5.18 first and I just impressed. Because before IDM I had used FDM, but it does not support resuming from File Hosting Sites, so I have to face critical situations, and thus downloading large files became frustrated work for me. In my opinion the feature i like most of this software is making downloading so convenient for any indiviual with saving our valuable time.

I would like to win one of these licenses. I have been using a 'Free' alternative that I do like very much, but I have tried IDM and there are some functionality in this manager that I prefer to the other software. I like the support and ease in which you can set up download types to download into different folders. Also, the interface is much more streamlined in comparison to the other tool (less confusing and to the point).
