Lavasoft Ad-Aware Total Security is great at detecting malware, especially adware and spyware), and is a good option for complete internet security.
It has a good antispyware and antivirus engine.. I am using the ad aware free version and i wish i could get one license from softpedia so that i can have full version of internet security..

Ad-aware has a very good interface. Ad-aware viruses beware. ITs detection is top notch as it using Sunbelt Vipres av engine. OA fiirewall plays very well with it. Pls include me too.

Somewhat older and less tech-savvy, I suspect, than most commenters, I discovered Ad-aware (and knowledge of spyware, malware and the rest) a few years ago when a (younger) co-worker downloaded the free version for me and my PC ran 3X faster. Since then I have preached the word to my gray-haired friends who are astonished at the effectiveness and ease of use of Lavasoft’s product.

This is a very good product, the antivirus engine is from VIPRE which is light and has a high detection rate. There is also the Lavasoft anti-spyware engine included. I am just teaching my grandma how to work with her very basic computer - the strange heavily breathing metal thing she can't decide whether to love or hate more, yet which keeps her in touch with her other grandkids, and so many other cool things in the world.

If you kindly gave me this antivirus, I could install it on that computer and make sure that during one of those Skype sessions with her innocent babies, no pop up of not-so-innocent Germans and their shmexy time appears; that after clicking on that strange long link her son all in a sudden sent her at 2 am, her screen won't go black and never back, that after buying that detergent which is one dollar cheaper in the online store, her entire Christmas savings won't be wiped out, and so on. This would be wonderful and I'd sleep better. Also, knowing that her little metallic friend "is kept healthy", I am sure my grandma herself would beam with pride, just like over her heavenly white maltese :).

And yes, I am totally playing on your emotions. But my grandma is the cutest and most lovable thing alive. She'd treat you to a delicious duck and knit you a sweater to prove it in real life, but unfortunatelly the virtual reality can't reproduce these warm fuzzies yet. On top of the excellent protection ad-aware give a GUI that is easy to understand and easy on the eyes! They define a way to keep to keep me protected without any major slowdowns on my laptop. The toolbox is a nice piece of kit with its tracks cleaner and startup manager, it adds something that could mean the ending of ccleaner and other such products. Behavior detection is useful as not being tech savvy it alerts me to whats going on, on my desktop giving plenty of info so as not to be caught out by virus's. Never used this product, but now that i've read the comments... I am very curious, it seems to be a very good anti malware product. (I have had big problems with my PC in the past, thanks to malware). It would be nice to have a Pro to protect my PC.

I have been using Ad-Aware Free IS for the last two years and found most reliable than any other av software, nowadays. Though I am desirous of purchasing the latest Pro version, but unable to make payment via net banking, as payment method is only through credit card etc.
