It’s a well known fact that AIDA64 Extreme Edition is among the top choices when it comes to PC diagnostics and benchmarking. On the third day of our 10 year celebration giveaway campaign, we bring you 50 licenses for this suite, each valid for 2 years.

The same rules as in the previous offers apply, so you have to come up with a quality post below, at the end of this article, in order to qualify for one of the free 50 codes.

We’re looking for posts that stand out, so just making known your wish to get one of the licenses won’t suffice; make your comment as unconventional as possible.

Priced at $39.95 (€31.32)/year, AIDA64 Extreme Edition (reviewed here) is designed to scan the system and inform you of the components that make it tick. It shows the details of the computer in a very careful and exact manner.

Besides reading your computer’s hardware, the suite can also benchmark (synthetic evaluation) the system CPU, memory and disk(s). Thus, you can get a pretty accurate view of how fast your computer can perform and how it ranks among other systems.

With support for more than 150 sensor devices, AIDA64 can give you information about temperature, voltage, fan speed and power usage. These details can be displayed in your system tray for a quick look, but you can also instruct the program to produce alerts whenever thresholds are exceeded.

Reading hardware information is not the only game AIDA64 is good at; the suite provides details about installed applications as well: running processes, services, startup programs or history of visited web pages.

Note: You have 24 hours to post your comment from the publish time of this article. Your chances to win one of the 50 free codes are only as good as your comment. So make your remarks as honest and witty as possible.

The winners will be picked from the comments section of this article, and will be contacted in 5 days after the giveaway expires. They will have to provide their full name in private (when required) in order to collect their prize. No other information except for your comment and the alias / nickname you provide will appear online.

We urge you not to double post and, most importantly, be original because pasting from different sources on the Internet will get you kicked from the giveaway campaign.

I have been using Everest Extreme Edition for awhile now and i hear that this is the ppl that took over for Everest. It would be nice to see an updated Program.

Comment #5 by: Ashwin on 03 Oct 2011, 11:45 UTC reply to this comment

I use a set of free apps to monitor my computer's Hardware, Core temp + HWinfo32 + Speedfan. It is a bit difficult to use multiple programs to monitor all your Hardware. And that's what makes AIDA special I guess, an all-in-one monitoring utility.

I have also used Everest Ultimate Edition, before it became AIDA64 Extreme. I especially like the tray notifications, you can configure the program to display CPU temperature, HDD temperature, etc. A handy program, I still use it on my computer running Windows 7. My system isn't a gaming PC or not the most powerful by any means, so I don't expect a lot from benchmarking results, just happy to know the diagnostic details.

I have tested the portable version of AIDA64, but it was only the trial and it didn't show a lot of details, its a restriction in the trial version. Didn't show the temp of my HDD or my CPU's secondary core,Motherboard details and stuff. But I reverted back to the old version for which I have a license and it works great.

Comment #9 by: lucian on 03 Oct 2011, 12:29 UTC reply to this comment

Year 2001-2002 when I have first used it Aida, that time it was named Everest and could tell me what components I have installed in my system while I was not able to tell my friends by simply inspecting my hardware what sound card or what GPU i'm using.

It was simple the best of its kind and a remarkable applications. I love that it has a simple interface, this kind of simplicity that hides a deep hardware understanding and offers precise informations.
I love how it helps determine who has the best CPU or the best Memory Bandwitch, good for testing when you buy second hand or new components.
I would want to get one of those licences to know what hardware I'm using.

Comment #10 by: loozer on 03 Oct 2011, 12:35 UTC reply to this comment

aida was the bestest when it was free, but it's still better than most
glad that it's part of the promotion

Comment #11 by: Bero on 03 Oct 2011, 12:44 UTC reply to this comment

AIDA64 ( former EVEREST ) is a powerful tool for identification and testing of virtually all components of personal computers running operating system Windows. Aida is indeed accesible for anyone, but is vast array of features make this comprehensive diagnostic and benchmarking tool most powerful when in the hands of power users, hardware enthusiasts and overlocking addicts that require more than a quick look under the " hood " of their computer. Thanks for this giveaway and happy birthday.

Comment #12 by: pmi on 03 Oct 2011, 12:48 UTC reply to this comment

One of the best application of its kind. I know it since it was aida32, a free application, then sold and named to Everest. It shows all sorts of details of the system configuration and is useful in diagnostics thanks to the included benchmarks. The live sensors show many details during the normal operation, also useful for diagnostic and benchmark. If you don't know what type of MB or memory you have, fire up AIDA and you'll know everything in seconds. If you want to know the maximum speeds of your dvd-burner, this is the application that can help. Thanks to the links available next to each device, it is easy to find a driver or details from the manufacturer.
I highly recommend it.

Comment #14 by: mario from brasil on 03 Oct 2011, 13:08 UTC reply to this comment

Well, these 30 days of giveaways are going to be tough for everybody - for us to post meaningful comments for so many products, and for you to read all of them and choose the best.
AIDA64 - NEVER HEARD ABOUT! No kidding! Generally, I mean - in the last 40 years, I'm pretty much into software, but never seen this one. Or maybe it is my DNA problem - Dinosaurs Natural Age - just don't remember seeing it before. Very plausible cause also! Anyway, the list of features is impressive - just at a quick glance, this software alone, would replace about 6 different softwares I have installed - maybe more - namely AMD CPU Info, Ashampoo HDD Control, Battery Care, DiskCheckup, Everest Ultimate and Sandra - mainly these last two. So YES, it is a good try to get one of the licenses - I have too many things installed on my laptop - actually one of mine new year to do list item was to uninstall one software a day - I started it good - Revo was paying itself off, but I was installing faster than un-installing - it takes about 45 seconds to load to find 425 programs. So please, help me keep my new year resolutions - in the end of the year, thats true - but better late than never - by conceding me one of the licenses.
thank you, happy birthday - by the way - which is the correct date? I'm from October 21st.
mario

Considering i just had to wipe my harddrive entirely and start anew due to a previous program that I wont name here which while runniong it for cleaning purposes went a little too far and wrecked the registry. Having Aida Extreme 64 will keep me abreast of the internal runnings of my newly re-installed system and will help me to identify areas that need attention.

Yet another nice software giveaway from Softpedia!

AIDA 64 seems to be an improved version of other free prodcts offered for Windows. I was a great fan of SIW (System Info for Windows), but AIDA has something in addition to offer. It has got benchmarking module. I have never seen this module in other software. Anyway it is welcome as may help you diagnose your problem.

This soft is really for computer professionals. It gives you very detailed information about everything, including software and hardware.

This kind of utilities always come handy. My friends (most of them not computer experts), call me very often to solve their issues they are facing with they computers. Each time I have to install an utility like this to know exactly what do they have in their computers. So far I got well with SIW, but AIDA64 really amazed me when I first tried it. It's the only software you will ever need to monitor your hardware and software.

I'm not sure if exists or if it's legal, but a portable version of the app would come even handier, most of the time you now the configuration of your own computer, but might get issues when working on somebody else's computer. Is there a way to integrate the license into a portable version which doesn't require installation?

Unfortunately this is not free software, not even for non-commercial use, but I might get a chance of winning one of those 50 codes you offer.

Thanks for putting on this awesome giveaway.

I've used the trial version of AIDA64 and I loved it. I'm kinda what you'd call an extreme overclocker (I have a mineral oil submersion rig that is cooled by a 1/5hp aquarium chiller) and I found the monitoring and benchmarking features of the program to be excellent. The benchmarking tools, in particular, were excellent in helping me eek out every last bit of performance of my system, right down to CAS timing on my RAM. I'd love to purchase a copy of AIDA64, but as a broke law school student, funds are rather low. I would absolutely love a free copy of the software, and I'd be sure to tell all of my friends about the program. Thank you so very much for this opportunity. Keep up the good work!

Who does not need a program knowing absolutely everything about your computer? The program perfectly capable of working with PC Benchmark, System Diagnostics, Network Inventory. The program which is able to test and create competent and reliable reports?
The program has come a long way from Aida to Everest and then to Aida64?
Perhaps only those who absolutely do not Inters their computer, not interested in his condition and his life.
It's not about me. The more you know about your computer the less you need someone else's care. I use Everest Free and hope to win AIDA64.
Thanks Softpedia for another great giveaway and for the chance to win! Thank you!

AIDA64 Extreme Edition is a streamlined Windows diagnostic and benchmarking software for home users. AIDA64 Extreme Edition provides a wide range of features to assist in overclocking, hadware error Diagnosis, stress testing, and sensor monitoring. It has unique capabilities to assess the performance of the processor, system memory, and disk drives. AIDA64 is compatible with all current 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
AIDA64 implements a set of 64-bit benchmarks to measure how fast the computer performs various data processing tasks and mathematical calculations. Memory and Cache benchmarks are available to analyze system RAM bandwidth and latency. Processor benchmarks utilize MMX, 3DNow! and SSE instructions, and scale up to 32 processor cores. For legacy processors all benchmarks are available in 32-bit version as well. AIDA64 Disk Benchmark determines the data transfer speed of hard disk drives, solid-state drives, optical drives, and flash memory based devices.
AIDA64 supports over 150 various sensor devices to measure temperatures, voltages, fan speeds, and power draw. Measured values can be displayed on System Tray icons, OSD panel, Sidebar Gadget, and Logitech G15/G19 Gaming Keyboard LCD. The values can also be logged to file or exported to external applications such as RivaTuner or Samurai. AIDA64 can also alarm the user when it detects overheating, over-voltage, or cooling fan failure.
AIDA64 has the most accurate hardware detection capabilities in its class, to provide detailed information on the computer internals without the need to open it up. The hardware detection module is strengthened by an exhaustive hardware database holding over 115,000 entries. Additional modules are available to overview processor frequencies, check CRT and LCD display status.

Happy Birthday Softpedia!

hello everyone:

First of all thanks for this giveaway.

I would like to win a license because i have always used Everest.

Thanks again and good luck for everyone.

Comment #87 by: Adrian on 03 Oct 2011, 18:54 UTC reply to this comment

Not many applications get to always sit in my tray. But Everest has surely been one of them since I last purchased a new system (~4 years ago).

My favorite features are the collection of sensors + the configurable alerts when the predefined thresholds are reached. Also, the information about the physical configuration has been invaluable while studying the market for update opportunities (RAM, Video Card, HDDs, coolers etc.).

While AIDA x64 would not benefit me much in comparison with the last version of Everest on my current configuration, it would certainly make a great addition to my new upcoming system (because of the updated benchmarks and support for more recent hardware).

Another quality give-away, certainly worth another comment :)
Happy celebration Softpedia, keep it coming!

I have used several other PC diagnostic softwares in the past but none seemed to have really satisfied me. i want to put AIDA64 to test. i sincerely hope that with it my search for a diagnostic tool will end! there is this saying that....NOTHING EVER BECOMES REAL UNTIL IT IS EXPERIENCED. EVEN A PROVERB MAY NOT REALLY HAVE A MEANING TO YOU UNTIL YOUR LIFE ILLUSTRATES IT. I want to experience AIDA64 to accertain its reality. from: katzung, in enugu Nigeria.

AIDA64 is certainly one of the best software when it comes to pc diagnostics and benchmarking. It is very comprehensive and gives accurate information regarding pc performance. It has many useful features like hardware information, system's stability testing, performance testing, hardware error diagnosis and many more.
AIDA64 is certainly one of very importatnt tools to have if you are searching for accurate hardware information. I must say this is a great tool to have.
Pros:
1. Easy to use and nice interface
2. Accurate system information
3. Full of features and extended tools.
Honestly speaking i din't find any cons. This is a must for every computer expert.
Thank you softpedia for generously offering this software for giveaway.

Happy birthday and thank you for the great giveaway.

Comment #102 by: BlogWurm on 03 Oct 2011, 22:29 UTC reply to this comment

This tool is really cool, because it combines all major diagnostics demands for soft- and hardware in a smart and handy to use interface.

To get fast information and familiar with the hardware installed, I often use reports and summaries.
Then the software section tells me detailed information about OS and also other software and drivers installed.

But I really love the realtime sensors, cause it's nice to know HDDs' temperatures and S.M.A.R.T.-values to see my data safe.
It's also handy to monitor fan speeds and temperatures of chipset and cpu.

Benchmarks are also a nice feature, but I only use them to check how good performance of new hardware e.g. HDD is.

Until now i'm very happy with my old everest version, which fits my needs.
But it would be nice to win and get the opportunity to upgrade to the new successor AIDA64.

Thanks Softpedia and AIDA for this giveaway.

"Aida" means "returning" in Arabic and indeed Everest returns to its customers under a new name. And just like Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece opera, Aida represents a perfect harmony of form and function. It has earned the trust of professionals and won over the hearts of millions of users around the world!

I am using Everest since forever and I still have last version (5.50) of that program on my PC. But I also have portable program very similar to Everest and it's called AIDA32. It's old program, from 2004. Is this the old version of AIDA64? I was a bit surprised when I found out that Everest is discontinued. But AIDA64 certainly looks like worthy successor. It' very similar to Everest. So, count me in!!!

Comment #108 by: TomasD on 03 Oct 2011, 23:19 UTC reply to this comment

AIDA64 (former "Everest") is the first computer diagnostics/monitoring application I've tried. And I must admit that this is definitely the best application of that kind. I've tried many alternatives for it (some were free while some were not) but none of them has so many features and was so easy to use. It would be nice to win this nice peace of software.

Oh, and of course, happy birthday Softpedia. More up-to-date posts, news, downloads, giveaways and simply articles that are interesting to read.

Like many womans do, it search in every place of your computer to find the name and the characteristics of everything. Thanks for all AIDA! I hope to see the extreme world with your help. Thanks for another cool giveaway.

I do monitor everything on my laptop and so have multiple gadgets & softwares installed such as-
core temp, All CPU meter, Quick Monitor, CPU Meter, AnVir Task Manager, and Speedfan.

The problem with having multiple things above is CPU & RAM consumption. Even with 4Gb RAM it's always 70% and more used (thanks to CPU Meter gadget to show me that)..lol

Earlier I had tried Everest Ultimate Edition and liked it a lot.

The trial for this AIDA64 giveaway does not provides all the information, only some. However as per their website the full/paid version will show all the infomation, making it a One Shop show for what all I want.

The tray notifications are excellent and could be configured according to my need. I have a i5 Core, so it would be very beneficial for me if you could please spare me a license for my use.

Once again, Thanks,
Grr

I have used about 20 different tools to monitor my computer and hardware resources. But none of them was satisfactory..........But AIDA64 Extreme Edition is such a nice software which monitors every single hardware on the computer. It is both useful to professional and regular users.
I must say my experience with AIDA64 Extreme Edition was very nice.It helped me in understanding my PC.We can configure this software in many ways.It displays HDD Temperature,CPU frequency/temperature etc....and many more. Each utility helps in understanding the hardware deeply...
The interface is good and it doesn't take much RAM also..According to me it is one of the "Must Have" soft-wares.A plus point of this software is that it can assist you in updating the BIOS.It gives you statics on different hardware performance on real time basis which is very helpful in optimizing PC...I tested it on my computer and also on my friends' PC's and it performed well..If it had a Gadget for Windows 7 and Vista users it would have been better...But still it is far ahead compared to other monitoring soft-wares..........

** .........................HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOFTPEDIA.........................**

Lift the bonnet of a motor car and it is all #@&*%^$ to me! Ask me where the altenator or the carburettor is and I would be guessing, though at least I can check the water and oil! Aida64 takes away all the guess work I suppose and lets me just get on with the job at hand. It tells me all I need to know about my computer without the need to 'lift the bonnet'. What a bonus to have for everyone!

AIDA64 Extreme Edition is a great tool to identify the components of hardware and software installed in your computer, as a follow-up of the popular programme of Everest.

The main task of the programme is to provide the largest portion of the detailed information about hardware mounted in our computer. It allows to display data about the processor, motherboard and chipset, memory, hard drive, video card, and many other devices, as well as installed in the computer software and security level. The tool also supports most types of sensor used by hardware manufacturers, enabling the monitoring of parameters such as temperature, rotational speed wiatraczków or current consumption. All of this information may be displayed e.g. via gadget on your desktop. AIDA64 Extreme Edition as most tools of this type provides the ability to generate a report, containing information about the available components and save it, among others. in HTML format.

For this functionality does not end with the possibility of a new stage of this popular tool. AIDA64 Extreme Edition as its name suggests, is dedicated for 64-bit architecture system, but without the problem also works with the 32-bit. In addition to the mechanisms of delivering many information about the hardware and software tool includes a number of useful benchmarków. They allow testing CPU (using even 32 cores), memory (RAM), cache, bandwidth test, and test the speed of transfer of different types of media-hard drive, SSD drives, optical media, memory cards, etc.
