The Softmachines Pillows are some of the neatest gift ideas for your guitar or music enthusiast friends, as they boast the best of both worlds. First of all, they're a cool home décor item, which will add instant fun to any house, and on the other hand, they're delightful symbols of the rock industry, as they depict some of the legendary guitar pedals – The Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi, the Pro Co Rat, and the Roland TR-808, one of the world's most recognizable drum machines.

Created by German designer Gwendolin Taegert, these pillows she calls “softmachines” are a very good display of how human and personal technology can be.

Hugging a drum machine while you sleep would be at least weird, if not completely unhealthy for your slumber. Moreover, sleeping with a distortion guitar pedal under your pillow would, as well. Now, if you're a gearhead who likes to see himself/herself surrounded by the stuff he/she loves best, it might prove that the Softmachines Pillows are a great invention.

Manufactured from soft and natural materials, these pillows come with all the cuddly comfort any similar (but casual) products sport. Yet, some could find it rather hard to sleep with their heads resting on the knobs of these cushions. Yes, knobs, because the Softmachines Pillows have been tailored to reproduce as much detail of the original gear as possible. They sport all the rotary potentiometers and switches found on the original equipment, for a realistic reproduction and definitely a more funny look.

The Softmachines Pillows are perfect for your sofa or for just being thrown around your den. Their bright colors will surely please the eyes of both musicians and the rest of your friends and visitors, and will make everybody gaze at them with curious looks and then smile. While making a great Christmas gift, these Softmachines Pillows retail for a whopping $130 each.
