Softbank 812T GPS Phone for Kids

- Letting you know where your kids are at all times

By: Iohana Georgescu, Communications News Editor

Nowadays, it is extremely fashionable to equip a child with a GPS device, because with the help of such a device parents can
find out exactly where their little ones are.

A large number of mobile phones for kids, equipped with a GPS and call limiting capabilities are being released in the hope that it will somehow help parents keep their children safe.

Although it would seem more appropriate for parents to give up the various gadgets used to track their children down every time they are somewhere they are not supposed to be, and try to actually educate their children, it seems that these kids' GPS phones are becoming more popular each day.

The big difference between the 812T and other mobile phones for kids is that this handheld looks and behaves just like a normal mobile phone. The 3G 812T features a 1.3 megapixel camera, email and Yahoo Messenger support which will probably keep a child entertained at all times.

The video camera also proves to be pretty useful. Parents who are constantly busy and at work almost all day long can see and talk to their children through video call.

The 812T is currently available in Japan through Softbank, but what is really hard to understand is why Japanese parents would need to buy their child such a phone, when 99% of Japanese mothers stay at home and should be able to take care of their children without the help of this handheld.
