You can always count on Sofia Vergara to call it like it is in a magazine interview. The “Modern Family” actress is featured in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine with an interview that touches on a variety of topics, from her love life to her career and wedding plans.

As for those, she doesn’t really have any right now, she says.

Sofia got engaged to Nick Loeb in Mexico on her birthday, when he surprised her with a gorgeous diamond ring and a proposal. They celebrated afterwards with all the friends she’d flown over for her birthday party.

Nick’s timing is what’s making Sofia think she doesn’t really want a big wedding again.

“He was already married with a big wedding and I was already married with a big wedding, so we’re going to something but not right now,” she says.

“When he proposed, it was my birthday, and I’d flown more than 100 family and friends to Mexico for six days of partying. It took me forever to arrange the logistics! If I had known I was going to get engaged, I don’t do this stupid birthday,” the actress adds.

She and Nick might not be planning the wedding right now, but they’re definitely thinking about their life together and, why not, the possibility of starting a family some day.

The actress, who already has a son from a previous relationship, says she wants to continue working for at least another 5 years, after which she will probably have a child.

She’s already frozen her eggs, so surrogacy is certainly on the table.

“I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that [freeze my eggs],” Sofia says.

“But I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation. I don’t want to wait forever, but not yet, because I’m working like an animal,” she adds.

The full interview is available in the June issue of the magazine here.
