14 DAY TRIAL // At the beginning of last month, word got out online that “True Blood” hunk Joe Manganiello had finally gotten his hands on the woman of his dreams, “Modern Family” stunner Sofia Vergara. Days later, they were photographed holding hands, but if you still had doubts that they’re off the market for now, here’s Sofia herself to set the record straight.
The actress sat down for an interview with Extra (video is available below) to talk about her latest campaign with Head & Shoulders, and as expected, she also had to take a question about her love life.
Usually, Sofia manages to avoid too much media attention for such private matters, but this time, considering that both she and Joe are very popular for their good looks and their work, interest in them as a couple has been unexpectedly high.
Asked if she took her new man to meet her family on a recent trip home and if her mother approved of him, a suddenly bashful Sofia responds with “What is there not to approve of?”
What is there, indeed: except for the fact that Joe can’t seem able to stop complaining about how he’s being discriminated against because he’s so handsome and how he’s the only “real” hunk out of all the male celebrities who land magazine covers for getting ripped, he does seem like a potential Mr. Right: he’s gallant, he’s a romantic at heart and would do anything to please his lady, and last but not least, he’s handsome.
Pressed for details, Sofia goes out of her way to stress that the relationship isn’t serious just yet. So she won’t be saying any more on the topic.
“You know, I'm just having a great time. It's a special time in my life, and I'm trying not to think too much about it. It’s something very new, so we will see what happens,” she says with a smile.
It is believed that Joe and Sofia became romantically involved in May, after the White House Correspondents Dinner, where he was even caught on camera looking at her impressive derriere, with a look of admiration on his face.
When the rumor broke that they were dating, in July, an insider said that Joe had actually been carrying a torch for Sofia for years and that he considered her his ideal woman. If that’s true and he treats her right, they might just make it down the altar.
Sofia was engaged to businessman Nick Loebb for 2 years, but they broke up in May, right before she and Joe became an item.
