Hackers of a group called TheHorsemen have hijacked the official Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Tumblr accounts of the Dubai Police.

The hackers have published screenshots to demonstrate that they gained access to each of the social media profiles.

“Dubai Police is spying on you, Isn’t it fair that we the people do the same back?” the hackers wrote on the hijacked Twitter account.

At the time of writing, the tweet posted from the Dubai Police account has been removed. The police have not made any statement regarding the incident, but the Dubai Media Office has admitted that the accounts were “subject to a cyberattack.”

The attack appears to be part of a campaign dubbed OpDubai, which the hackers launched at the end of last year. A number of United Arab Emirates government websites have been disrupted as part of this operation.
