Rihanna, the wonder 19-year-old singer, the new IT girl and Jay-Z's protégée, is now preparing to launch her third and yet untitled album, only two years after she made her grand entrance on the music stage. The third studio material is scheduled to hit stores on June 5, 2007 - but don't expect to hear anything that Rihanna accustomed you to until now.
In a recent interview, the petite and extremely talented singer said that this album is her way of coping with growing up and, consequently, this will show in the lyrics of the tracks and the overall sound. Well, we might as well add another thing to that list: growing up also means sexying things up a bit and you're sure to see this by simply watching the video below, shot for her latest single, 'Umbrella'.
Let me just get over this nasty part and straight to the point: this is one of the hottest videos EVER! Usually, I'm not the one to get carried away but rarely have I seen such a sensual and highly sexual video. Come to think of it, I think this was done last by Prince, the only difference being that, well, Prince is not as hot as Rihanna. And he doesn't strip naked and dance with only a coat of silver panted-on. Yeah, he does that, except the last part.
'Umbrella' is, obviously, not a track about an umbrella, as ridiculous as that might sound - it's a song about relationships, about being there for each other, about real friends and learning to live up to someone expectations. In other words, Rihanna sings about 'serious' topics she never approached before - such as real friendship, love and sex. 'People are not going to expect a song like that from me', she once said when asked by reporters about 'Umbrella'. In all fairness, the world didn't expect lyrics like 'Baby, please come into me/ You can always come into me', but I guess we'll live through it. It's all a part of growing up.
In short, I would say you should definitely watch the video - if not for the song, at least for the hotness that Rihanna is. Honestly, the track itself is pretty catchy, except for that part in the chorus where she goes all 'umbrella, ellah, ellah, eh, eh'. That's just annoying.
My opinion isn't really anything though accept Rihanna is really awesome I love her songs they are so cool I have all her CD's and I listen to them all the time they are so awesome to please send me an email saying what happened to her and anything else goes on please tell me so then I'll know
