Snowlinux, a Debian-based Linux distribution for beginners, implementing the Cinnamon desktop, is now at version 5 Beta.

Snowlinux Cinnamon 5 Beta has been codenamed "Flurry" and is based on Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 "Wheezy" and Linux kernel 3.10.

"This new release mainly improves the system itself. We're now using GPG signed repositories and the ISOs are built by a build server. Snowlinux 5 'Flurry' is based upon Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 'Wheezy' and uses Linux 3.10. It comes along the Cinnamon 1.8 desktop." Highlights of Snowlinux Cinnamon 5 Beta:

• SnowMount has been implemented; • Firefox 24 and Thunderbird 24 have been added; • Snowlinux HD backgrounds are now available; • A lot of packages have been updated; • The speed and response of the system have been improved.
