Conservationists will be happy to hear that, not very long ago, two snow leopards were spotted in the Gangotri National Park in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

Information shared with the public says that the presence of these cats in the area was documented with the help of camera traps. By the looks of it, one of the felines was a male and the other one was a female.

The presence of these snow leopards in the Gangotri National Park was documented on two separate occasions.

“A male and a female snow leopard were caught on camera on two separate dates at the Gangotri National Park recently,” the Park's Deputy Director, G. N. Yadav, said in a statement.

According to Times of India, the male cat was caught on camera on November 18, whereas the female was observed on December 2.

The news that two felines belonging to this endangered species have been sighted in India's Gangotri National Park comes shortly after the World Wildlife Fund announced that a pair of snow leopard cubs had been photographed in eastern Russia.
