A report reveals that the Moscone Center has an opening June 6 through June 12 marked as a generic "corporate meeting." Apple held WWDC at Moscone in 2007 and 2008 at the same time of the month. The report claims Apple will release Snow Leopard on June 8. Apple hasn't published its schedule for WWDC '09.

Apple is expected to hold a keynote on the Monday of the event, The Baltimore Sun says, according to Computerworld. Apple will use that keynote to announce the launch of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, the report says. Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, is expected to deliver the keynote address and announce the availability of Snow Leopard. Several reports also suggest that Steve should have the “honor” of announcing the next iteration of Leopard, not Tim Cook (COO and current acting CEO) or Phil Schiller (SVP of worldwide product marketing, Apple).

In January (this year) Steve Jobs posted an open letter to the Apple Community followed by a second announcement, revealing that his health issues were more complex than originally believed, and that Apple's CEO was taking a six-month long medical leave. Steve Jobs promised he'd be returning to Apple as CEO in June.

“In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June,” said Steve Jobs. “I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple’s day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job. As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out. Our board of directors fully supports this plan. I look forward to seeing all of you this summer,” Steve said.

In the meanwhile, development on Mac OS X 10.6 continues, with the latest seed of Snow Leopard including an updated version of QuickTime, advanced Core Text features and more. Apple promises to deliver the fastest and most stable OS ever with OS X Snow Leopard.
