Mobile phone gamers now have the chance of developing some piloting skills with the help of "Snoopy the Flying Ace" game. Namco has taken Snoopy from the Peanuts comic scenes and put him right on the display screen of mobile phones.

Everybody knows Snoopy. Many of those who know him can even say that they love the Peanuts comics. Sounds like the perfect start for a mobile game which takes a famous brand even further, on handsets. History goes a long way back with Snoopy, as more than 70 television specials, 1,400 book titles and 18,000 Peanuts strips have become part of American culture in time. A mobile game is only one more environment that the comics prove to have adapted to.

The storyline behind "Snoopy the Flying Ace" puts Snoopy in a rescue mission to save Woodstock's fallen nest. The beloved comic character must collect ballons throughout the Peanuts world in order to raise the nest. Challenges include storm clouds, kites and the Red Baron. The player can climb, dive and loop throughout the level to collect balloons, bird buddies, root beer, coins and special items.

"Snoopy's aerial escapades are some of the most memorable moments from the Peanuts comic strips and are appealing to mass-market consumers, making them an ideal storyline for a mobile phone game", said Scott Rubin, vice president of sales and marketing for Namco Networks. The fact that Peanuts is one of the most appreciated entertainment brands of all times can only be of help for making "Snoopy the Flying Ace" a real success.

"Snoopy the Flying Ace" is available from now on to be purchased from national wireless carriers and looks for an even larger expansion in the future. Many of the handsets coming from leading producers support the game and Namco is currently working on ways to expand the list even more.
