14 DAY TRIAL // Snooki likes to party. In fact, she likes to party so hard she probably doesn't even remember half of it the next day. However, that's not all there is to Snooki, she says during a recent televised appearance on The Today with Matt Lauer.
The MTV-made reality star, real name Nicole Polizzi, says people need to distinguish between her public persona and the real Snooki – or Nicole, as she likes to call it.
Snooki is her “alter ego,” the pint-sized star tells Lauer while promoting her second book in a year, “Confessions of a Guidette,” as the video below will confirm.
“Right now, you're talking to Nicole. It's like the soft, calm, business-ready person,” she says.
While Snooki could never be a role model for the obvious reasons, Nicole could and probably is already, she says, speaking of herself in the third person.
“I think you see more of the party side of me… on the show. Snooki’s definitely not a role model. Snooki’s just there to have fun in life,” she says.
“Nicole, I would say, I can be a role model. I’m very strong, independent and I’m lovable, I guess,” she continues.
However, her second book (the first one, “A Shore Thing,” came out at the beginning of the year) seems to be all about Snooki and very little, if at all, about Nicole the role model.
The star even took the time to explain to Lauer what a “guidette” was and how the term no longer came with the negative connotations it had when he was younger.
“It's not really a compliment. It's a lifestyle... A Guidette is a girl with with a strong personality. She doesn't let anyone bring her down. She likes tanning. She's very independent and she loves to be, like, flashy,” she says.
