Snooki Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Pint-sized reality star Snooki (real name Nicole Polizzi) is a mommy: she and fiancé Jionni LaValle welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Lorenzo Dominic, into the world just a few hours ago.

MTV News was the first to break the happy news, confirming that both mother and child were healthy and doing fine.

Snooki and Jionni were understandably thrilled about welcoming their first child into the family.

“Snooki and her fiancé, Jionni LaValle, welcomed their baby boy into the world a little before 3 a.m. Sunday morning (August 26) at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey,” MTV reports.

First thing in the morning, Snooki was on Twitter, sharing her joy and excitement with the rest of the world.

“I am SO IN LOVE with my son Lorenzo Dominic ! I had my little man last night, healthy at 6lbs! HE'S MY WORLD! ❤” she wrote.

Considering that Snooki kept her fans up to speed with her pregnancy at all times on the social networking website, chances are confirmation from her was all they were waiting for.

A publicist for the reality star, who rose to fame on MTV's controversial but incredibly popular “Jersey Shore” reality series, has also issued a statement.

“The world just got another Guido!!! Lorenzo Dominic LaValle has entered the world weighing 6lbs, 5oz. Nicole, Jionni & Enzo are doing great!” reads the statement.

“We couldn't be happier for Nicole and Jionni on the healthy delivery of their baby boy!” MTV also says, joining in the celebrations. “We look forward to Lorenzo's first trip to the Jersey Shore and can't wait to see his first animal print onesie.”

Right now, Snooki has her own reality show on the same network, together with good friend and roommate JWoww. She has said that pregnancy has changed her life in ways she couldn't have imagined possible, so her fans must be eager to see her now in her new “role,” that of mother.
