Pregnancy sent producers in a fit, re-writes had to be done quickly

Just in case you still lived under the impression that there’s anything real about reality shows, here’s Snooki to shatter this illusion for you: in her new book, the pint-sized former hellraiser admits that her own series with best friend JWoww is scripted.

Telling producers she was pregnant in 2012 sent them in a fit, she writes in “Baby Bumps: From Party Girl to Proud Mama and All the Messy Milestones Along the Way,” the Daily Mail informs.

They already had one full season of the Jersey Shore spinoff entirely planned, with scripts for each episode stipulating (I assume) when fights would take place, what drama would unfold and “aww” moments come in.

When she told them she was pregnant, all that went down the drain.

“They were like, ‘Get me re-write, ASAP!’ I felt for them. It would be hard to make the show fun… I had to give the producers credit for rolling with the punches. Since clubs and bars were out for filming, we had to come up with creative alternatives for funny scenes,” Snooki says.

So they replaced that with more “domestic” settings like a baby clothes store, a pet store, the doctor’s office. “We managed to cobble together some hilarious and intense moments,” Snooki muses, looking back.
