Sniper Elite V2, the shooter from Rebellion Developments and publisher 505 Games, has managed to take its second week at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart for the period that ended on May 12, showing that the slow period of late April – early May can be a fertile launch window for lower profile titles.

Sniper Elite V2 drops the player in the combat boots of an American sniper who needs to take out both German and Soviet troops in Berlin during 1945 in order to make sure that all important German scientists are secured by the United States.

FIFA Street, the trick-oriented quick football game from EA Sports, has managed to get second place for the week that ended on May 12, climbing two positions when compared to the previous seven-day period while third place was once again occupied by its older cousin FIFA 12 that launched in September last year.

Prototype 2, the open-world action game from Radical Entertainment and publisher Activision Blizzard, has fallen down two places in order to take over fourth position while Mass Effect 3, the action and role-playing hybrid from BioWare and Electronic Arts, is in fifth place.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, another EA Sports video game, is again in sixth place, not budging as it satisfies the needs of gold enthusiasts just as Kinect Star Wars, the LucasArts game that uses motion tracking to power lightsaber duels, is again in seventh place.

Eight and ninth place are also unchanged when compared to last week, with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games followed by Battlefield 3, from Electronic Arts.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by a revived Assassin’s Creed: Revelations from Ubisoft.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now out of the top ten.
