There doesn't seem to be much movement on the IT market as of late, which may come across as troublesome, but this also means that those companies, in this case G.Skill, that do release hardware get more attention than they otherwise would.

With all the new processors that came out and are about to come out, especially from AMD's labs, it stands to reason that memory makers would seek to offer new products of their own.

Also, with how DRAM chip prices have fallen to such historical lows, there is an even greater tendency towards high-capacity kits on the part of both suppliers and consumers.

That said, G.Skill decided to unveil a rather long list of memory products with capacities of up to 24GB and base frequency of up to 1,866 MHz.

The Series is known as Sniper and, as one would expect, is intended for gamers and enthusiasts owning systems based on platform from either of the IT industry's two greatest rivals, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Intel.

There are two kits with heatsinks colored Metallic Army Green, both of which can be of 8 GB, 12 GB, 16 GB and 24 GB capacities, respectively.

Both have the same latencies (9-9-9-24 ) and power draw (1.35V) but one has a frequency of 1,333 MHz, while the other operates at 1,600 MHz.

The other kits have the same capacities and black heatsinks, plus the same latencies, except for a 1600 MHz one (7-8-7-24, 1.65V) and the 1,866 MHz one (9-10-9-28, 1.5V).

As for the rest, two 1,333 MHz run on 1.5V and 1.25V, respectively, while the remaining 1,600 MHz ones are rated at 1.35V and 1.25V, respectively.

All in all, the series can be said to have something for everyone on the high-end market, from high-speed, capacious kits for overclocking to power-efficient ones that still handle any game with ease.

Prices were not given, but listings should show up sooner or later. Either way, once they do sell, a three-year warranty will be offered.
