A jury has voted to convict Andrea Sneiderman on 9 of 13 counts for perjuring herself during the murder trial for her husband's death.

Rusty Sneiderman was killed in November 2010 by his wife's ex-boss, Hemy Neuman. The latter was convicted in the murder case and ordered to a mental institution after an insanity plea.

Sneiderman was fatally shot in front of Dunwoody Day Care. 37-year-old Andrea testified in Neuman's trial.

The prosecution alleged that she was involved in a relationship with Neuman and that she played a part in the killing.

“It felt like a cover-up, in my opinion,” Juror No. 57 in her trial has said.

“She could have taken the Fifth at the first trial, but she still could have been tried some of these offenses for having given false statements to the police.

“But by having that testimony at the first trial on tape, the jury had no question about what she had said,” Atlanta criminal defense attorney B.J. Bernstein argues.

Officials believe that her testimony has hindered the investigation into the Neuman case. After her conviction, she will be sentenced by DeKalb Superior Court Judge Gregory A. Adams.

“He’s not the toughest sentencer at the courthouse, but he’s likely to give her some time,” attorney Keith Adams says.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she stands to serve five to 10 years on the counts that she has been found guilty on.

Four of her charges are for perjury, and they will boil down to a single sentence under Georgia law.

“In my book, this has been a travesty, this has been an offense to our justice system. [...] The people who are going to pay the most are her parents and children,” her friend, Steffi Miller, defends her.
