Shown as a Universal Binary on a MacBook Pro...

Adobe's release date for the universal binary version of its Creative suite software has left a lot of people mumbling. Officially scheduled for the second quarter of 2007, it looks like the software is well on its way, at least judging from the sneak peak InDesignSecrets.com got.

The event was rather unusual as Adobe does not usually discuss features so far in advance of the product release, and although only a small part of the new features were shown, it is pretty clear that work is going well, especially the Universal Binary part.

"The demo was run on a MacBook Pro and was clearly running as a Universal Binary program, showing that Adobe is indeed hard at work converting their programs to this new platform," David Blatner reports for InDesignSecrets.com

For those more interested in the new features found in the program, the InDesignSecrets report offers some insight into Object Effects, Finer Transparency Control and Selecting Multiple Files. While these new features are interesting and will definitely help to do a lot of things faster and easier, they are in no means groundbreaking.

Overall, although it is almost a year until release, the sneak peak gave the InDesignSecrets people the impression that the product was very 'complete,' which is good news and lends hope to those who want it to be out yesterday.
