Fans of the photo-editing app Snapseed rejoice! Nik Software, Inc. has thrown in a ton of goodies with version 1.4 for iPhone and iPad, including support for the new Retina display (better late than never) and numerous other enhancements.
A simple, yet powerful photo editing application for iDevice owners, Snapseed allows anyone to enhance, transform, and share their photos using advanced features in digital photography.
The latest version of Snapseed iOS brings support for the third-generation iPad, which means that all your photos will look crystal-clear on the tablet’s retina display.
iOS 5.1 support means more stability and compatibility with the integrated services.
You can now open your Snapseed-enhanced images directly into Instagram and send them off to all your friends.
A bug that caused some odd lines to appear in images cropped as 1:1 has been squashed. Nik Software promises that “Square images will be truly square now”.
The developers have enhanced Black & White, saying “We love monochrome a lot, having developed the world’s leading professional black and white software in Silver Efex Pro.”
“Snapseed gets even more of that mojo with new algorithms and color filters for superior enhancements and control,” according to Nik Software.
Center Focus is also improved. Users can employ presets to save time, but those who want truly original works can start from square one and use all the adjustment tools provided by the app. Nik Software explains:
“Taking a cue from our professional filters product, Color Efex Pro, we’ve improved Center Focus to make it even more powerful. You can now draw attention to the subject of your photo by adjusting the brightness of the inside or outside of your image. You can enhance the overall effect by blurring, or turn it completely off to create vignette effects with ease.”
The Crop tool now includes 7:5 aspect ratio, and the app now supports Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese, to round up the list of new features. Download Snapseed for iPhone and iPad
