Snapchat is one of the most popular instant messengers for mobile devices. The messaging service has hundreds of millions of users worldwide, but in order to take advantage of it you can't have a Windows Phone device.

For whatever reason, Snapchat developers don't think Windows Phone platform is worth their time, so in order to use the messaging service you need either an Android or an iOS device.

There were quite a few third-party Snapchat applications available in Windows Phone Store for some time, but as of lately the developer of the original app forced Microsoft to remove most of them from the store.

One of the most popular Snapchat third-party apps was Rudy Huyn's 6snap. The application was removed last month, along with other third-party apps that used Snapchat's servers.

6snap won't come back to Windows Phone Store, and we were wondering why Snapchat decided to ban all these apps given the fact that they have said many times that they have no interest in bringing the instant messenger to Windows Phone platform.

No ETA for the arrival of the app has been given yet

However, Snapchat fans will be pleased to know that there's still hope for the application to arrive on Windows Phone platform.

According to Snapchat Support, developers have plans to bring the application to Windows Phone in the future. Even though they did not share any details on when that might happen, they said more info would be announced closer to release.

Unfortunately, there's no telling when that will happen, so we're still in the dark about Snapchat's arrival on Windows Phone.

The only good thing is that Snapchat developers confirm for the first time that they now have plans to bring their app on Windows Phone platform, and that's a good thing.

Hopefully, Snapchat for Windows Phone will be available for download sooner rather than later. If you're a Windows Phone user, stay tuned for more on this one.
