Sn0wbreeze 2.3 beta 1 tool created by iH8sn0w is reportedly available with the purpose of jailbreaking devices running iOS 4.3 builds. The tool provides what is known as a ‘tethered’ jailbreak, meaning that every time the device reboots, Sn0wbreeze will be required to preserve the jailbreak.

Jailbreak tools are a dime a dozen, but the most reliable of the lot are yet to be updated with exploits capable of achieving a proper jailbreak of Apple’s iOS 4.3.

While Sn0wbreeze 2.3 beta 1 does promise to jailbreak your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, and iPads, the hack is still taking its first baby steps towards becoming a reliable hack.

Holes are known to have been found in iOS 4.3 which the infamous iPhone Dev Team can take advantage of to update their various jailbreak tools.

However, iOS 4.3.1 is said to be on the way, and any exploits revealed to Apple by then will surely be patched.

Back to Sn0wbreeze, the tool reportedly supports Windows PCs only for now. The tool does not unlock iPhones, but does preserve their baseband for potential future unlocks.

iH8sn0w, the developer, has demoed new multi-touch gestures on iOS devices which he plans to bring via additional updates to his hacks.

iOS 4.3 was released last week just before the iPad 2 was introduced, packing enhancements like the Personal Hotspot feature for GSM iPhones, iTunes Home Sharing, new AirPlay features, and a faster Safari web browser.

This article has a purely informational purpose and doesn't, in any way, suggest that you should hack your Apple device.

Using hacks may render your device unusable, or may reduce the quality of your experience employing the respective device.

If you choose to download and install jailbreak tools, you will do so at your own risk. Unlocking / jailbreaking your iPhone / iPod touch / iPad / Apple TV may violate your warranty or the EULA with Apple and / or your cellular-service provider.
