Innocent Tasty drinks launches a charitable campaign meant to keep the older people warm during cold seasons. The initiative was successfully launched on the market in 2003, when 20,000 knitted hats placed on smoothie bottles managed to gather £10,000 (11.704,11 euros/15.783 US dollars) which went to support a noble cause: the Age Concern initiative. Throughout time, the potential of such a strategy has grown and officials hope to be able to manufacture 650,000 creative hats, which are expected to raise approximately £1 million (1.17041157 million euros/1.5783 million US dollars).
The hats are manufactured by knitters all across the UK. These items will be delivered to the beverage company until Octomber, so that the company has plenty of time to count them, attach them to bottles and distribute them to stores across Boots and Sainsbury, where customers will be able to purchase them.
Passionate collectors should be aware of the fact that such products come in a limited edition. They will be sold only for two weeks, but the benefits of this strategy will most likely be noticed on a national level. The company is quite generous, since it plans to donate 25p for every bottle sold.
The hats come in all shapes and sizes one could possibly imagine. The knitters' creativity isn't limited by rigid quality standards. Perhaps the most surprising fact is that up to 80% of the people who manufacture these ingenious, amusing hats are the ones who actually benefit from this project, older people who are excited to be able to stay warm during winter.
The people whose wellbeing is supported by this charitable action engage their efforts in over 100 Age Concerns/Age UK centres which develop knitting groups in their facilities.
A smoothie is always a healthy option for its buyers. The officials from
Innocent Tasty drinks prove that “healthy” and “nutritious” can be mixed with the right dosage of creativity and philanthropy in order to guarantee the success of a national program, meant to take care of the older people during winter.
