As it has already been said on countless occasions, nowadays, a modern, daring woman is no longer afraid to go out to social events wearing softer, thus more natural and effortless looking makeup, which bears a striking resemblance to the way she actually looks when she wakes up and gets out of bed in the morning.

This is why now, when the lips are no longer the piece du resistance of a woman’s makeup (as they once were when brightly colored lipstick were used), it’s the eyes that are slowly starting to become the focus of current beauty trends. Depending on the mood you're in the very moment you start applying your makeup, the range of choices is practically limitless. For starters, you no longer have to worry about matching the eye shadow with your lipstick. And the list does not stop here.

Looking like Brigitte Bardot's twin sister is not as difficult as it may seem, since all you need is the right eye shadow and some skill. You may choose to put on other colors than black, gray or dark silver tones to obtain the desired effects. The options that are presented to you can also include brown or dark green, as long as you stick to the essentials – use only strong nuances, contrasting enough with the color of your face. Remember that smoky eyes look best only if you also match them with a natural shade on the lips.

To kick things off, it’s recommended that you start with your regular foundation, just to be sure that the additional makeup applies properly on your skin and doesn't run. Experts advise us to apply a strong color only on the upper lids, saving the softer shades for the lower ones - otherwise, the effect you will get might be quite the opposite, in that you will look as if you have nasty dark circles under the eyes. A couple of strokes of black eyeliner, some mascara, and you're ready to go. Also, if you're not a blush fan, the complements you'll be receiving on the way you look should bring some color to your cheeks quite nicely.
