SmartFTP, one of the most popular FTP clients among Windows users, has received a brand new update this morning, so make sure you get the fresh version as soon as possible.

SmartFTP 5.0.1340.0 doesn’t bring any major changes, but it does include application compatibility detection, as well as several bug fixes supposed to improve the overall experience offered to Windows users.

Starting with this new build, the file operation process uses Windows File Explorer's "Hide merge conflicts" setting, the developing team explained, while the SSH support has been improved with additional verbose logging during key exchange.

Of course, SmartFTP is supposed to work flawlessly on all Windows versions still supported by Microsoft, including the old XP or the modern 8. Both 32- and 64-bit Windows editions are compatible.
