14 DAY TRIAL // Picsel has announced a limited-time offer on its Smart Office 2 software for iOS devices, allowing everyone to download the productivity app free of charge. The company also rolled out Smart Office Plus today.
According to its creators, Smart Office is “the best Office Document editor for business and power users.”
Smart Office 2 is now a free download (down from $9.99 / €8.99 according to AppShopper), and includes new features and enhancements as part of an update rolled out by Picsel this week.
Version 2.1.19 launches faster, offers quicker document loading, requires less memory for PDF documents, and includes “numerous bug fixes and enhancements across all document types.”
As far as Smart Office Plus is concerned, this is the expensive version of the productivity suite and sells for $29.99 / €26.99.
Released this week for the first time on iOS, the app lets you annotate PDF with highlights, comments and freehand ink, print wirelessly, use Document Info View, and even recalculate spreadsheets.
You can also use Smart Office Plus to create and delete files in local storage, navigate pages with convenient gestures, create documents from templates, share stuff on email, use various types of formatting, and lots more.
Supported file formats and actions include: Word, PowerPoint and Excel 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx (viewing and editing); Adobe Acrobat PDF viewing and annotation; PDF conversion; JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP images (viewing); vector WMF and EMF diagrams (viewing); printing to HP PCL3GUI, PCL6, PCL5, Epson ESC/P-R, Samsung SPL.
The Smart Office apps support various languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
Both Smart Office 2 and Smart Office Plus only require iOS 4.3 to run, and support iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad.
