Simple labeled fridge triage boxes could help us preserve food and money

It's no secret by now that people often need labels and post-it notes to remember all the less important tasks they have to accomplish on a daily basis.

One of the simplest ways of cutting down food waste is truly ingenious, simple and cost-effective. Smart fridge triage boxes properly labeled can do the trick in this case, helping us select and eat the food that is the most perishable.

At this point in time, such an easy-to-follow strategy could trigger much-needed results, since only in 2010, 33 million tons of food ended up in landfills, instead of being responsibly consumed.

Even though it is a mere box with a message written on it, creative manufacturers have proved before that simple products costing less than a couple of dollars can improve consumer habits and make a difference.

This time, we only need paper, a box and plastic wrap to get the job done. Best part is that, once it is no longer needed, the triage box can be properly recycled. Although these items won't stop us from shopping excessively, they could definitely encourage us to save perfectly edible food and money in the long term.
