Smart Browser Extension for Businessmen and Other Users

- User-centric navigation with RoamAbout

By: Denisa Ilascu, Internet / SEO News Editor

Vysr, a startup company from California, offers users a free browser extension that puts an end to the chaotic navigation between tabs. RoamAbout is an add-on for Internet Explorer and Firefox which helps users access business services or personal applications the easiest
way possible. Although, at the moment, RoamAbout only offers a few popular pre-installed programs, it is an open platform that enables developers to adopt the technology for any given application they believe is suitable for their website.

RoamAbout is developed as a toolbar that offers stock information, Wikipedia content and news, for the business package, YouTube videos, games, Twitter and Flickr services for the social kit. Every time users find a text fragment on which they want to know more on the web page they are currently surfing, RoamAbout comes in handy. Users have only to select the part they are interested in and then click on the application that they consider to be more suited to provide extra details. For example, if someone finds in a webpage a paragraph about "Elton John's new video", he can click on YouTube to actually see it. In the same manner, Wikipedia can offer synonyms and explanations for unknown words in the text.

Guda Venkatesh, CEO of Vysr, the company that launched the application, stated that RoamAbout can be really helpful for businessmen, who are always in a hurry and don't have time to lose with intricate web browsing. "Web users are forced to browse multiple sites to accomplish a single task or are shackled to one site to use a particular service, including how much time they spend doing various tasks. With our RoamAbout Business Pack, however, Web users have a very simple and powerful way to increase their productivity by using their services any place on the Web," said Venkatesh at the product's Beta launch, in June.

For those who want to improve their browsing activity, both types of package, business and social, are available for download.
