The release allows users to register their DP7 upon upgrading in order to have access to customer support

SmallHD has provided a new firmware package compatible with its DP7-PRO field monitor, namely version 3.0.0 (or Capicola), which can be applied only if the device is already running software version 2.0.0 or 2.0.4.

The present release allows users to register their DP7 upon updating through a simple webUI, a task which will give immediate access to the producer’s World Class customer support. However, the registration process can either be delayed or skipped entirely.

In addition to that, version 3.0.0 improves Image Capture and Overlay, allows the monitor to display up to 2 different Looks at once, to create User Looks using Davinci Resolve style tools, as well as to send a Look downstream using Send Out.

If the DP7 is updated, multiple Looks can be used as Nodes, the original image can be viewed side-by-side with the modified one, all Nodes can be combined into one Look (for saving/export), and Full Color Mapping with Rainbow gradient is now available.

Moreover, screen scaling while switching between Live View Mode and Record Mode on DSLR will be performed automatically thanks to the new Canon 5Dmkii DSLR Scale feature.

When it comes to upgrading to the 3.0.0 Capicola firmware version, save and extract the downloadable archive, copy the “dp7-update[V3-0-0].bin” file onto a formatted USB stick (FAT32) or SD card, and insert it into the DP7-PRO.

Now connect the DC power adapter (don’t perform the update on battery), turn on the device, go to Settings > Firmware > Update > Execute, select “Upgrade,” and allow the device to perform the installation (5 to 15 minutes).

That being said, download SmallHD DP7-PRO Field Monitor Firmware 3.0.0, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and apply the latest software on the device. Also, check our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
