Tech giant Microsoft has announced that all small x86 tablets to run Windows 8.1 and hit the market in the coming months will be delivered with a free copy of the Office 2013 productivity suite.

Windows CFO and CMO Tami Reller said at Computex Taipei 2013 that all small screen units, including the new Acer Iconia W3, would hit the shelves with a free copy of Office Home and Student 2013 to bring a major advantage to all devices when it comes to productivity.

“Tami also shared that new small screen x86 tablets including the recently announced Acer Iconia W3, will come with Office Home and Student 2013 right out of the box. For both businesses and consumers, we’re committed to making all Windows tablets, both x86 and ARM, great options for work as well as play,” Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc said in a blog post on the recent announcements.

Microsoft itself is also believed to be working on a smaller Surface version featuring an 8-inch screen, so expect even more exciting news as soon as this month.
