Gearbox Software has just released a small update for Aliens: Colonial Marines on the PC platform via the Steam digital distribution service, adding an option to turn off the film grain filter as well as increased security systems to stop cheats and exploits.

Aliens: Colonial Marines came out back in February and ended up disappointing lots of fans from around the world.

Since then, developer Gearbox has released a few updates, including massive one that resolved lots of key issues and added a mandatory film grain filter.

Now, a fresh patch has been rolled out on the Steam service that adds a film grain filter as well as new security options that should address the cheats and the exploits used by some more nefarious players during the online multiplayer.

Gearbox promised last month at PAX East that more updates would be released for Aliens: Colonial Marines in order to improve the game and make it a decent experience.
