No one expected Brit Brit at the AMAs. At least, the people in the audience did not expect her to be there, to make an appearance on stage and present an award. The surprise was huge and the pop star had to start what she had to say for a couple of times until she was properly heard.

The bottom line is that the world loves Britney. Maybe not all listen to her music, but no one can deny that her fall from grace has been more than a steep one - going from multi-platinum artist to the joke of the town. And this is the only way in which one can explain why she is still being given standing ovations when she does nothing else than present an award, a thing that a five-year-old could do.

Anyway, as I was saying, the world loves Brit Brit and wants her to be back, with an album and the same physique that sent the teenagers' hormones through the roof. And, slowly, she is making her way back in showbiz, with an appearance here, an appearance there and lots of smiles for the cameras.

One has to be really thick-headed not to admit that she did look really good. Sure, some say that her hair extensions are awful but... haven't they always been like that? Then, there are those who point a finger, claiming that she's not thin enough to wear this type of tight outfits. Who are we to judge how much is thin enough?

I'm coming off as a Britney fan again, even if I'm not. I'm just saying that she'd better come up with some killer stuff for her next album, otherwise all this heavy publicity will turn out to have been pointless.

Cue to Brit: throw that chewing gum, honey, if you really want to be taken seriously!
