Harmonix and MTV Games have another song pack ready for their Rock Band, and, while the three bands that have lent their tracks to the game are well known, they couldn't be any more different in style. The first band will rev up Rock Band instruments like never before, as Slipknot fans are sure to heat things up with the three songs that the DLC has provided.

The songs are priced at $5.49, or 440 Microsoft Points, and, while the developer and publisher have opted for tracks from the more popular All Hope Is Gone album and from the Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses, we're sure that fans of the band would have been far more pleased with at least one track from Iowa. The exact tracks available are Duality from Vol 3 and Psychosocial and Sulfur from All Hope Is Gone.

From the opposed side of planet-rock, the next songs made available by the downloadable content are from the singer-songwriter duo made up of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, Simon & Garfunkel. Just like any other individual tracks, these are priced at $1.99, or 160 Microsoft Points, or 200 Wii Points.

The sixth entry in the DLC comes from Lights Resolve, and is priced at the same standard for solo titles. The tracks from Simon & Garfunkel are I Am a Rock and The Sounds of Silence, while Dreaming of Love is the one from Lights Resolve. The tracks will kick in tomorrow, December 8, on the Xbox 360 and Wii, and on the PlayStation 3 on December 10.

While we would normally have moved on to the weekly Rock Band Unplugged DLC, it seems like Harmonix has decided to stop this tradition. As it announced last week, the developer has halted the release of any more content for the PlayStation Portable version of its rhythm game for now. As the first PSP title with an in-game DLC store, Rock Band Unplugged hasn't been forever deprived of future content. It's just that, for the time being, Harmonix will focus its efforts on something else.
