Sling Media has just announced the availability of its SlingPlayer application for Android tablets running Honeycomb 3.0 or later.
With
SlingPlayer, Slingbox owners can extend the experience offered by their TVs to their tablets.
The new application has been totally overhauled and comes with a special program guide that allows users to browse content while watching TV.
The application allows users to view and control video sources including, cable set-top box and DVR, satellite set-top box and DVR, basic cable, Apple TV and more.
It is also worth mentioning that the application for Android smartphones is still free on tablets and functions in “Compatibility Mode.”
However, the smartphone version streams at lower quality resolutions available than the tablet version.
SlingPlayer for Android Tablets is now available for $29.99 or 23.99 EUR from the
Android Market.
