There aren't many small gaming notebooks, but the laptop that Digital Storm has just released definitely qualifies as one. It is called Veloce and measures 13.3 inches in diagonal.

Normally, we'd have expected a screen size of 15.6 inches or 17.3 inches, but Digital Storm figured 13.3 inches were better for traveling.

It also cannot be denied that a smaller package means a lower price, and that the resulting lower weight is a convenient advantage as well.

In any event, the system features on an Intel Core i7 4800MQ central processing units (6 MB cache, up to 3.7 GHz clock speed).

Said CPU is backed by 8 GB of DDR3 memory (two 4 GB modules) and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M discrete graphics card (2 GB GDDR5).

Needless to say, all games will run perfectly on the newcomer.

What's more, the Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) will ensure that the visual quality is top notch as well.

"Veloce is the gaming notebook the industry has been waiting for," said Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm's director of product development.

"The notebook strikes the optimal balance of power and portability without sacrificing gaming performance and is the first Haswell based slim gaming notebook to offer a stunning full 1080 HD display."

Digital Storm's Veloce gaming mobile personal computer utilizes a Killer Wireless-N 1202 wireless LAN + Bluetooth 4.0 module.

Other specifications include a backlit keyboard, USB 3.0 connectivity, an HDMI 1.4 output, a VGA video port, and a blood red logo slicing across the notebook's black top cover.

Everything, including the battery, weighs 4.6 pounds / 2.08 kilograms. The frame isn't thicker than 1.26 inches at any point.

Sales will start on July 17, but we have no price to share as of yet, and even the official web page has nothing more than a countdown.
