Tablets with sliding keyboards haven’t been spotted in the wild for some time now, as most manufacturers prefer to offer them as accessories, these days.

Following some rumors speculating that Samsung might be working to release a tablet that will incorporate a sliding keyboard, the guys at the Dutch site SimOnlyRadar have taken upon themselves to create a concept render of what such a device might look like.

The so-called Galaxy Tab Slide is envisioned to come packing a quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. According to the concept, it should pack two cameras (8-megapixel rear one and 2.1-megapixel frontal one), HDMI out and USB connection. The default operating system attributed is surprisingly, Windows 8.

The slate is also supposed to be really thin (10 mm / 0.3 inches) and weight just 683 grams / 1.5 lbs. But the question arises, would a slate with a keyboard ejection system find a place in today’s tablet ecosystem?
