Nokia and Tropfest@Tribeca, the US extension of Tropfest (the world's largest short film festival held in Sidney, Australia) partnered to bring you a new and exciting contest: Slice of Life. It is a video contest that invites all video mobile phone users to capture a moment in their lives and upload it on the festival's website as a video postcard clip. Anyone over 18 years of age can participate, the sole condition is to record a clip no longer than 30 seconds with a mobile device camera. The clips should be spontaneous and capture the author's conception of "life in a moment". All submissions must be uploaded until September 7, 2007.

Sponsored by Nokia Nseries, the contest is unique, being the first until now that requires content shot exclusively on a mobile phone. The winner will receive a Nokia Nseries package which includes the N95 multimedia computer, the elegant Nokia BH-801 Bluetooth headset and the ultimate Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. Plus, the lucky winner and one guest will go to New York for all of the Tropfest festivities and the award winning clip will be screened on September 23 during the Tropfest@Tribeca at the World Financial Center's North Cove in New York.

Andrew Elliott, Director of Multimedia Experiences at Nokia North America, said: "This is a great opportunity for Nokia and Nseries to partner in Tropfest@Tribeca with the 'Slice of Life' contest. Our research indicates that nearly half of all respondents used their mobile phone as their primary camera, and using your mobile for video capture is a natural extension. Seeing that manifest itself at this event will prove how a mobile phone can empower people to not only capture, but easily share memorable moments, as they occur throughout their day to day life."

Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker or just a person who enjoys making clips, send your slice of life and wait for the jury to decide.
