Sleipnir web browser received today a minor update to build 5.0.1, which integrates only fixes and a couple of modifications that should improve the overall user experience with the application.

The fresh build went through some improvements for better functioning on touch displays. Also, the developer announced that the Blink rendering engine the web browser now relies on has been updated to Chrome version 31.0.1650.57.

As far as repairs are concerned, the new Sleipnir should no longer be affected by the bug that prevented rendering of the text in certain occasions.

On the same note, feedback from users informed of stability issues that lead to crashing the browser. The developer found two glitches that caused this behavior and eliminated them.

With version 5.x, Sleipnir (also available as a portable download) has been redesigned and optimized for text rendering. It does away with jagged edges and, according to the developer, it brings to the table smooth rendering on par with professional graphics tools.

The overall appearance of the browser also went through some surgery, and the result is a more compact layout that is a perfect fit for mobile devices but also looks great on regular systems.
