Dan Sochan, the producer working on Sleeping Dogs at United Front Games, says that his team currently has about six months of downloadable content planned for its open world brawler and that Square Enix is looking at the franchise potential of the game.

The developer told the Official PlayStation Magazine that, “A few months before we shipped Square told us they wanted to do DLC so we made sure we could technically do add-ons. But we really spent every waking hour and then some making sure the game was as polished and as bug free as it could be.”

Sochan is not yet ready to talk directly about the kind of content that gamers will get before the six-month period runs out.

Square Enix took Sleeping Dogs from Activision, where its previous incarnation, True Crime: Hong Kong, was canceled because of quality concerns.

The publisher will need more time to evaluate player reaction before it decides whether to push Sleeping Dogs 2 into production.
