UFG is capable of working on both projects

United Front Games (UFG) has just revealed a few more details about Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, the upcoming remastered version of its original open world action game, confirming that its development hasn't affected the creation process of the sequel, Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars.

Sleeping Dogs appeared a couple of years ago across the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms, after going through a rocky development due to initial publisher Activision. However, thanks to Square Enix, UFG was able to release the game and impressed quite a lot of people with the great open world of Hong Kong, as well as the pretty intriguing story of undercover cop Wei Shen, who infiltrates the Triads.

Currently, the studio is working hard on a Definitive Edition of the first game, which is set to appear on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as on the actual sequel, Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars.

The work on the remastered version of the original hasn't affected the sequel

Now, in an effort to stop worries from fans about UFG working in parallel on the two big projects, the community manager has stepped forward on the official forums and revealed that work on Triad Wars isn't affected in any way by the development of the Definitive Edition.

"Now I know you're all hoping I'll have an update on Triad Wars for you, but just to manage expectations - I don't have any information about it myself at present as information about it is being tightly controlled (even internally) and I'm not involved with it myself. Suffice to say that it's being worked and that the Definitive Edition hasn't impacted its development in any way," he tells fans.

The Definitive Edition has almost all DLC but no mod tools

The UFG representative has also shared a few more details about the upcoming Definitive Edition, confirming just what is and isn't included in the overhauled experience.

First up, buyers can expect to receive almost all the DLC packs that were released for Sleeping Dogs after its initial launch, with the exception of the boosters that served to help those looking for easy experience, in-game money, or other such things.

"The DLCs included are most likely to be all DLCs released previously except for the specific boosters. All DLC content is designed to fit into the game seamlessly, so you won't have to worry about activating any additional content as such."

What's more, UFG apparently didn't have time to implement the support for mod tools in the Definitive Edition, so those looking to customize the experience should stick to the original release.

"I did discuss this with the dev team and everyone here is well aware of the amazing stuff the community could come up with given the tools. Unfortunately, however, this isn't possible as part of this release in particular. I'm sorry to disappoint you on this... I know we would have loved to see what you could come up with!"

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is set to debut next month on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
