Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, the upcoming remastered version of the old game from UFG and Square Enix, has just received some more details about its technical improvements, as well as what DLC it will contain and what other tweaks have been made to its gameplay.

Sleeping Dogs appeared back in 2012 and delivered a fun open world action experience, putting players in the shoes of Wei Chen, an undercover cop in Hong Kong tasked with infiltrating the Triads and earning their trust.

The game had great combat, stellar visuals on the PC platform, and looked relatively good on the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition adds plenty of new things

Currently, UFG is working hard on Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, a reworked version of the original game that features all of its DLC, as well as better visuals that take advantage of the power in the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.

Now, one of the game's developers has stepped forward on the official forums to bring more info about the various visual improvements made to the game in the Definitive Edition. From the new native resolution to better textures and longer draw distances, a lot of enhancements have been made.

"We've increased the overall resolution of the game so it's now natively running in 1080p. The textures have also had their resolutions increased as draw distances have been increased as well, making things sharper! Add to this volumetric fog to represent the humidity of Hong Kong and hopefully you'll have the background of your dreams."

Gameplay improvements are also present

Besides the better visuals, the developer has also highlighted that certain gameplay tweaks have also been made, ranging from a balanced difficulty to smoother vehicle handling and much more.

"Certain aspects have been tweaked but we've tried to maintain the integrity of the original game so you won't see massive changes. The difficulty of certain bits was changed and adjusted a few bits in combat (such as the counter window time). The camera, vehicles and physics have also seen their fair share of love as well and so have the DLCs."

UFG previously helped Square Enix by working alongside Nixxes on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, which appeared at the beginning of the year and also boasted better visuals, all of its DLC packs, and different gameplay improvements.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is set to debut this fall for PC, PS4, and Xbox One around the world.
