If fans thought that the hatchet could be finally buried between guitarist Slash and frontman Axl Rose and that there was going to be a reunion of the two on the stages where Gun N'Roses (in its new formula) is currently performing, well, they couldn't have been more mistaken.
Annoyed by rumors that he and Axl are buddies again, Slash went directly to MTV News and made a statement according to which, quote, 'I have, in the foreseeable future, no re-involvement with the band whatsoever', thus straightening all the misinterpretations and clearing a misunderstanding that obviously bothered him in the most extreme way.
Slash is at the moment very involved in the promotion of the latest album of his band, Velvet Revolver, the follow-up to their 2004 multi-platinum 'Contraband'.
The feud between the two is far from ending as Slash couldn't miss the opportunity of making fun of the new Guns' N'Roses and of the way Axl keeps acting.
The band has had only a minor impact on the public, as Rose made it a habit of arriving late for almost every show (many of them got canceled this way). The violent behavior isn't helpful either and the fact that, only a little while ago, Axl got into a fight with fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger created even more bad publicity for them.
If you were hoping a new 'November Rain' would be released pretty soon, you'd better not hold your breath until then!
