Bethesda has confirmed that update 1.6 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the Xbox 360 is now available for download and will appear on the PS3 in the near future. Meanwhile, PC owners can still enjoy the beta version of the update via Steam.

While Skyrim delivered a complex experience, it was a buggy one, so developer Bethesda has kept on releasing new patches for the RPG since then.

The latest update, which takes the game to version 1.6, was released last week as a beta via Steam for the game’s PC edition, and has now been launched as a full patch on the Xbox 360.

Besides fixing an array of problems and glitches, update 1.6 for Skyrim brings mounted combat to the RPG, meaning players can finally execute attacks while on the back of a horse, instead of having to dismount.

Skyrim update 1.6 will be automatically downloaded the next time you start the game and are connected to the internet.
