Skyrim Patch 1.3 Won’t Eliminate PlayStation 3 Lag and Freeze Issues

selling my ps3, this happens way to often. said from the beginning it needs a ram upgrade like n64. xbox it is.

Lol, I had o buy a new PS3 too, upgraded from the 160GB to the 320GB, Skyrim is busting up this new one too.

This is complete B.S.!!! Patch 1.2 made this game virtually unplayable for me. Before 1.2 all I had to deal with was lag. Now it makes my ps3 freeze constantly (and it isn't necessarily related to file size, that was fairly large before the patch). Who cares about flying dragons?! I paid good money for a game I can't even play. I'm going to have to start a new file and play offline just to play the freaking game!!

Imagine how those of us feel that purchased the game and have No online connection to patch. I just hit 13mb file size and lag and freezing are a constant thing.

After a crash my PS3 will not update firmware or let me sign into my PSN. If this game screwed my hardware I am going to be * .

Quests cannot be submitted or competed for various reasons. I completed Trouble in Skyrim to return to Farkos whom i couldn't submit the quest to. He then gave me another quest which was to intimate Xander but every time i go to him he says "Your not suppose to be here" I cant pick up any other quests from the companions! It's sooo frustrating~~

The problem got a lot worse for me after 1.3.

Skyrim broke my PS3 & I had to buy a new one yesterday... At least this one is covered for a year with the warranty so I will play at least until then. Game kept freezing during load, then was getting warning about system not being shut down correctly, would start then shut down again as soon as i started playing the game, but would be fine otherwise. There went 100 hours of game play that went down drain... I have played the game twice now on new system & the game froze both times after 15 minutes requiring me to turn off the PS3.

The new patch just made it unplayable!

Before the patch, I was attempting to enter the Dawnstar Sanctuary after killing the Emperor. But it just loaded forever. After the patch it was fine, but after leaving and beginning my first quest, it freezes, again. This is sick, you make such a good game that you don't want to stop playing, but you leave so many glitches and lag/freezing problems that it is almost unplayable. Makes me sad, makes me sad... Game worked fine. Till I downloaded 1.3 now I am froze at the induction meeting with the companions. Have to start all over now was a level 14. Very * off at the moment

game freezes every 30 mins and i have to actually unplug my ps3 to get it to restart. very very frustrating indeed i just hope my ps3 doesnt get busted like others have said.

I decided to quit playing until the problem can befixed. my save file is 5 MB and it already freezes alot. PS3

this game over all is good but with all the bugs constant freezes kinda makes the game worthless. it just goes to show that this game wasn't fully tested and troubleshot prior to its release. this aren't minor glitches this are system busting ones. I myself just loaded the game hadn't been on for 3 minutes and froze. restarted my ps3 played for 5 min and froze again.

In a nutshell, Bethesda stink. They ripped us off with the near perfect Fallout series with their trademark freezing issues, and now Skyrim is the same if not worse. What a bunch of consumer-hating morons. Only one real solution. When you see Bethesda on a product, avoid it like the plague. Hit them in the pocket, like they consistantly do unto us. But we keep on buying their...stuff...in the vain hope that for once they cared enough to create something that delivers. I'm sick of buying potentially amazing games only to find they are depressingly unplayable. The only patch that would be of any use is one to help us all quit buying Bethesda products, like a nicotine patch, but for crappy games.

I have the PS3 version. My file is 11MB and I stopped playing 2 weeks ago. Downloaded the patch today, thinking it might help. Game is worse than ever. I can't play for more than 15 minutes without unacceptable frame-rate stutters and flat out game freezes.

It's a completely useless game and if I could get my money back, I would.

When i talk to someone about a quest in Skyrim, Sometimes it will take a little for them to talk and other times they dont talk back at all. Yet ill still be able to move but then if i shut off my ps3 it will do those beeps telling me my ps3 has crashed. (sometimes it crashes on its own). it only does this to this game and i am mad!! skyrim is an amazing game and i cant even play it. I want to be contacted about this to see what you have to say and if its not only my ps3 that does this

Did you know this would happen to skyrim on PS3's
(And if you didn't why didn't you see if it would incounter problems like this).

cant even play the game it lags out before it loads... really fun game with a 320gb hardrive on my ps3 space is not the problem the game is even deleted alll games but 4 still wont load * this game

I am lvl 37 and trying to finish up the Thieves' Guild quests. I am going after Mercer, and i get so far and it freezes. It froze once, after i used potions to heal up. My current save files is 8000kb, but i also have autosave on and i save three times, just in case one gets corrupt. Did a system restore, deleted all the files, saved my Skyrim on a disk stick. Now when i try to play it, it says it belongs to another user and i cant save or get trophies. So i started over. It froze still. Stupid game. It also freezes on Battlefield 3. I can play Saint's Row 3 just fine, no freezing.

My save file size on Skyrim@PS3 is now about 10MB. Today the game froze three times in about 45min. Nothing worked except a reboot of whole system. The console did not respond even for the PS-button.

After the patch every time i enter water i have to do it in 3rd person view and can't let the camera look under water cause whenever the character submerges and i try to look under the water the game freezes. Every single time! My ps3 froze seven time in the first 2 days after update that's no coincidence.

my new character freezes when in a big body of water plze fix this problem its unplayable

ive tried turning off the auto save, did all the updates, deleted old save files....but yet every single time i step into water my game freezes...im getting very frustrated!! please fix this soon

I just had my ps3 crash again.. I had to reset the machine (again - the 50th time) and now it wont even boot up.. It just cycles through a screen stating the system will reboot after it fixes a corrupt file.. But It wont even do that.. After pressing "OK" it cycles back to this screen again.. I even tried a hard boot as decribed in the manual, this also wont reset the machine... Looks like I have to buy a new playstation.. I dont think I will be loading skyrim on that one, in case it crashes my new PS3... Bethesda - Thanks for a brilliant game, shame it corrupts our machines with overly large save games...

Playstation support... It worked a treat, saved me from having to buy a new playstation.. I wont be playing Skyrim till the "powers that be" fix the crashing/freezing problem.. My game is at 47th level with an 18mB save game.. I really dont want to have to replay the game, it took me months of real time playing to get to this level, I'll be damned if I am going to waste another minute of my life playing this game.. Its a real shame, Bethesda comes out with a truely amazing game, 'tis a shame it is flawed with such a minor problem... I wont be buying another Bethesda product until it can be guaranteed that the game wont crash my system...

my name is dan wood i love the game but when i first started the game, the higher i went up in levels the worse the game got. so i started the game over and the same thing happends, stops slowes down stops all to geather or freezes and i havt to turn my ps3 off wait a fiew min and start it back up, then 15 min later does it again. i can't play more than 15 min before it does something els. please help theresa.wood95@yahoo.com

Well the newest update crashes my PS3 everytime i go in water and has ruined the game - I want my money back
