Well, the quiet insinuation of video games into our everyday lives is nothing new, and as the line between what is important to us transcends the boundaries of fiction, certain events that may seem out of place at first start becoming commonplace.

We’ve all heard about World of Warcraft and Star Wars weddings, and today we’re adding The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the list of titles that have inspired such actions.

You can get hitched in-game by using a special item that unlocks certain new dialogue options that allow you to sway the target of your amorous efforts.

Romancing NPCs is done by using the Amulet of Mara, an enchanted piece of jewelry that some ingenious gamer decided to use in order to propose to his betrothed, as revealed in a post on Reddit.

“He gave me the amulet and while I recognized what it was—it didn’t really click as to WHAT it was,” the soon to be bride said. “I put it on and he started to smile from ear to ear. Then he said:

'Is that an Amulet of Mara? I'm surprised someone like you isn’t spoken for.'

"Then it finally registered that he was proposing! He got down on one knee and slipped the ring on my finger.”

To be completely honest, it was merely a matter of time until someone had to pull this off, but it still is a novel and romantic way to do it, nonetheless.
