A plug-in solution based on Skype's classic solution

Skype announced the availability of its services for cell phones in April, VoIP becoming in this way available for cell phones. Skype prepared to switch from an impressive user base (over 100 million) to the billions of cell phone users, a segment much more profitable for the developers of the Skype solution.

VoIP solutions, such as Skype, work on a principle similar to the instant messaging services used between two or several computers. In this way, a connection between two systems or between a computer and a telephone through the SMS is established.

Skype's latest novelty is the demonstration of a beta version for video Skype, a plug-in solution based on Skype's classic solution.

Despite efforts made by Skype, it's too soon to say that Video VoIP is knocking on our door, although many telephony operators have tried to convince experts that they have the financial and technical power to launch such services in the near future. Unfortunately, for now, the costs implied by these services are rendering them unattractive and non-profitable.
