Skype's VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) software will now come installed on mobile handsets from Carrier Devices's I-mate brand that are equipped with Wi-Fi as well as cellular capability.
The I-mate PDA2Pocket PC phones have installed Skype's software which allows them to make calls over the internet. These terminals will be custom equipped to start making Skype calls, the company said in a statement.
The phones use Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs and have both
GSM/GPRS (Global System for Mobile communications/General Packet Radio Service) and Wi-Fi wireless LAN capability.
The Skype technology who seems to be desired even be Google it is around for some time. Skype Software was said to be desired by Google when the rumor emerged that the leader of online searches was thinking to launch a free telephone service that linked users via a broadband internet connection using a headset and home computer.
Ths software made by the London-based company, Skype, has been downloaded nearly 54 million times around the world but no large telecommunication firms had properly exploited it.
In order to prove Skype means real business, the software was developped for Linux and Mac systems early this month.

Skype for Linux software includes free Skype to Skype calling and conference calling for up to five participants, cross-platform communications, presence and personalization features, and the pre-pay Skype Out service, allowing users to call landlines or mobiles worldwide for the price of a local call.
