Microsoft today announced Skype 4.9 for iPad, an update to the company’s IM & video chatting app which brings audio and video call stability to iOS customers.

“Today we’re pleased to release Skype for iPad, version 4.9,” reads the announcement on the Skype Garage blog.

Under “latest improvements,” the development team outlines: enhanced audio and video call stability, the ability to share photos more reliably, improved accessibility for video messaging, and general fixes and improvements.

Skype for iPad version 4.9 supports all tablets ever released by Apple: iPad, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation), iPad (4th generation), iPad Mini. iOS 5.0 or later is required on all devices, says Microsoft.

The developers encourage all users to upgrade to the new version, as well as to provide feedback and to report any issues to the Skype Support Network.

Unfortunately, the updated Skype client is not yet available on the App Store. When Apple approves it, it will be immediately downloadable at the link below.
