The update lets Skype fans keep chatting while using other apps

Skype has just announced it was rolling out an update (version 4.5) for its Android tablet app, bringing a very useful enhancement for tableters.

From now users don’t have to stop video chatting when they want to use other apps. Skype has just introduced the new picture-in-picture functionality that brings a small Skype window to your screen when you're not in the main Skype app anymore.

Note that this particular feat is available only for Android tablet users. On top of the picture-to-picture enhancement, tablet users have a new way to move from letter to letter in their contact list.

Skype fans will only have to pinch the contact list to zoom out to a listing of the alphabet. From there, they can choose and tap on the desired letter to view the names under it.

It’s also worth mentioning that Skype is now compatible with Tesco’s supermarket budget Hudl tablet. So if you’re the owner of an Android slate, you can head on over to the Google Play store and download the update for free.
